I just went to the dealership the other day and decided to pick up (pun not intended) some catalogs of the 4x4 vehicles sold (Patrol, Pathfinder, Pickup, Frontier, X-Trail, Patrol Ute). I decided to transcribe the specs on the catalog of the Frontera (Frontier) pickup below:

The Frontera is almost all new this year here. It changes its name to the U.S. Frontier moniker, with it comes the styling of that same model. Up until now we still had only the old body Frontier being sold here. The versions are as follow:

4x4: Long/Short Bed, Single/Double Cab
4x2: Long/Short Bed, Single/Double Cab, and a special "4x4 Look" 4x2 in Double Cab guise

Single Cabs only come in STD (Standard) grade.
The Double Cab 4x2 comes in STD, STD/GL, and AX (top of the line). The "4x4 Look" comes in STD and AX.
Double Cab 4x4's come in STD and AX designations.

Not to be confused with the Frontera sold in Europe by GM under the Vauxhall and Opel brands which is basically an Isuzu.
