I think I decided what I wanted to do. I want to do a 3" frontier BL (275 bucks), raise the torsion bars 1.5" or so. I then want to do revolving shackle (185 bucks) for the rear (1.5" rear lift), keeping stock spring setup. This will put the cost right at 500 bucks (not incl shocks).

Anyone has any argument on this one (pro/cons)? this would provide 4.5" of lift, and maintain somewhat a decent ride. I believe with this kind of lift, I will then be able to run 33x10.5x15 w/out rubbing.

I dunno,,,,, i had an allignment shop say you can't raise the stock ride height w/ having allignment problems, bu then i have a piece of wood to drive...compared to your fence post.........others have stated that a little bit is ok.... but did any of these folks then take their truck to a shop to check if the allignment was within spec???????.... you might end up getting UCA's after all is said and done...
just supposin'

I only bought it three months ago. I am aware the any lift of the truck will void the suspension part. They will still cover the engine and tranny and transfer case

I say go for it. 3" BL and the minimal suspension you should be good to go. The suspension lift is what makes your CG out of whack anyway. Lifting the body doesn't effect the CG drasticly because your weight is actually your frame and your engine and DL componets.

I have been running that setup for a long time now, and it works great, and I have never been to an allignment shop. My 33x12.50x15 Muders are in top shape, and my truck drives straight as an arrow. Body lift and t bar crank and home made shackles is a great lift, and the 33's lift it even more, and I love it, but soon the sas will sky it even more than that!

How high does the Frontier body sit on the frame? The d21 trucks sit pretty high on the frame from the factory so a 3" BL on a d21 is pretty ugly if you ask me. Ive seen a few and you can see the TOP of the frame. Id suggest taking a careful look at how some of the details will look when its on. Ive had one on my wd21 (2") for 4-5 years now and I still have mixed feelings about how it looks (although ive had no problems with it) A BL is such a pain in the ass to install your not gonna want to remove if you dont like it. Just my opinion...

Thanks for the help Pecker. Sure the body lift is a bit high on the frame, but the tires fit and so that means it is cool. I am very deep into getting my solid front d44, so the body lift might come off, if the height from the swap is killer. Looks, mean alot, but that exposed frame is no big thing guys, it just depends on your priorities, mine is performance, before looks. wink

I have to disagree. My friends and I have discussed this at length several times. A campfire and alot of beer tends make us a little philisophical. smile

We all think BLs are cheesy. A bl generally is used to make a truck look taller and to fit bigger tires. Bigger tires do offer some performance gain, but I think the difference between 33s and 32s is small. I would imagine 32" tires would fit a frontier without a bodylift, possibly with a little fender trimming. With more fender trimming, I am sure you could fit 33s without a BL. This would net you the same performance gain as the 33s/BL. Also you'd get lower CG with same clearance. I dont like the trailmaster lift for the same reason I dont like BLs.

When I lifted my 'finder, I wanted to run 32s reliably and I wanted more ride height. I have to admit it was mostly for looks. I could have cut the body and fit the 32s, but it was too new and too nice to chop up. (not any more wink ) I could of just ran 31s, , but I wanted the look of the tires and lift.

So if you want to run 33s and dont want to cut up your truck and dont mind the drawbacks, do it.
But I wouldnt call a bodylift performance, I'd call it lack of better options...

I will respectively re disagree with that, and say that with the 33's and no body lift, I would get major rubbing in the rear, and as for the front, I run the fiberglass fenders, and still got some rubbing, but only when wheeling. You may not now this, but 33's are a big performance boost over even slightly smaller tires, and as I said, performance means more to me than looks. As for bolt on suspension options, there are a few, but none are worthy of my rig, only a sas will do, and don't think for a second that I don't know all about the ifs lifts, I have been dealing with them for almost 2 decades of Nissan ownership. wink
