This truck is nice. He's got the crawler gears, Calimini lift and bumpers, LEATHER, and it's just generally a sweet ride....

I wish I would have known about their bumper when I bought my ARB. I thought about switching to theirs, but all the stuff I chopped up already would have to be replaced, so it would cost more money than it is worth.

The Calimini bumper looks nice, but look closely at the mounting. It only has 2 bolts per side and about half the metal of the ARB down to the mounting points. I have considered buying one, but the mounting would be reinforced before I put a winch on it.

It does not mount to the tow hook things?

It has 2 bolts on each frame rail, with a flat piece of steel going down to each. The steel is a lot smaller piece than the ARB, which uses 3 bolts per side and an angled piece of steel for strength.
I am not talking bad about Calimini, I just think the more steel and mounting points, the better. |

I like that bumper too, but the arb's do look alot "beefier". Thats ones sweet frontier

The Cal bumper actually has thicker metal on the outer sections. It just has thinner mounting hardware. Personally, I prefer the ARB. Either one will be better than stock though.

It's also missing 2 shackle points on the front, like the TJM.
ARB's are nice for jacking the front end up or if you don't like them, just have TY hook his XJ up to it and rip them off....LOL MVM ###################### www.wheelohio.com mark@wheelohio.com |

Sorry about that Mark. I didn't know those were not for pulling, and no one said anything until after it broke

quote: Joel, No need to appologize, hell, I've used em' countless times for recovery and still have a hard time beleiving they are just for jacking. Yeah, we are lucky about the shackle not hitting anyone, but boy it sure was funny...still chuckle about that one. Didn't take much to fix it either, just some steel stock and welder/grinder... ###################### www.wheelohio.com mark@wheelohio.com |

What are you talking about that got ripped off. The holes on the front of the ARB? I have used it to get winched out of a pretty good stuck several times.

Ah, I see. Snatching a vehicle scares the crap out of me. Especially when there are shackles involved. What about reinforcing that area with a couple of thick washers on either side.
