This is a C200 (1986.5)

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

Why would 4x4parts.com sell parts for a d44? No Nissan has ever had a d44, except the new Titan.

I just looked and I see the newer Frontiers are supposed to have a d44 rear, who knew.

Here's my next question. Is the D44 better than the H233B or C200?

I think the H233b is a stronger more stout axle assembly. Now as for the d44, I don't know anything about the ones Nissan is using, but if they accept standard ring and pinion sets, they have the advantage of being cheap and available anywhere, plus there are several locker choices. But my guess is the d44 Nissan uses, do not allow the use of the standard d44 r&ps. The other Nissan axle is a ok axle, but...

To find out which diff you have, check the door jamb sticker. C200 is CA##. Not sure what the M226 (D44) code, is, but it'll be something other than CA## anyway.

The H233B is the strongest of them by far.

As for the D44, nothing about it is shared with the rest of the real D44s. The ring and pinion aren't interchangeable, axle shafts aren't either. From what I hear, the new Rubicon uses the same setup though, so we may see gears after all.

The new D44's are not so good.

If I was to buy one of the new trucks, I'd SAS it with Ford axles.

Is yours damaged? Do you have a new cover?

they're easy to change if you have a new one....you might have some success hammering your existing one back flat again and using copious amounts of blue silicone to tide you over until you can get a new cover.

yeah im just goin to hammer it out , its not to bad plus they only use silicone , i thought there was a gasket behind , if there was i would defintaly buy a new cover , also nobody in town carries the cover its special order, so if it leaks after i flatten it out and re seal it ill get a new one
