31's will fit no problem on stock wheels. You'll want to take a before measurment on the Tbars and an after one (ride height) after you put on the winch so you can crank the Tbars to get back lost ride height due to the weight. I've had my '98 since new. It's been a great truck. Do change out all your fluids though, and the transmission requires GL-4 and nothing else (not GL5 or any substitutes)  to N4W. 1998 Frontier 4x4, 2002 Xterra 4x4, and Z28 street rocket Pass here and go on.
