If I had to do it over again, I would be reeeeallly drunk before starting.....
seriously, if you are not intending to do a SAS, then it is a good way to go to get taller tires. If a SAS is in your future, wait for that, in my opinion, the BL with the SAS is a smidgen to tall. ---------------------------- 08 Titan 4x4 03 Frontier 4x4 05 Quest |

I'll agree with this. If my truck had a bl it would be really tall. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

I disagree... I have the SAS and 3" BL and I can run 35" tires with no cutting or special setup. I have about 5" of SL with the Calmini SAS kit in the front and 3" SL lift in the rear with the 3 pack AAL's + 2" shackle lift.
Would I do it again, yes, this time before the SL lift and save the money I did spend on the SL lift and applied that toward my SAS. Also, a lot of beer... --------------------------------------------------------- 04 SAS Frontier, 8" Lift Total, 35x12.5x15 MT's with Staun Internal Beadlockers, Calmini Crawler Gears, ARB Front & Rear Air Lockers. |

This doesn't look too tall to me.

I have a BL on mine too.

But have you guys been on anything tippy recently. I mean Bob, try the martinez mine razor backs with your setup and you may have a different opinion.
I was on several shelves this past month, and it gets pretty tippy, way past comfort levels. If I had been this high on previous AZ runs, the BL would have been gone by now. ---------------------------- 08 Titan 4x4 03 Frontier 4x4 05 Quest |

I have been on area's that have scared the crap out of me, but... when looking back, I would have done a BL before the SL.
In fact, from my perspective, the SL was my biggest waste of money that I spent. You can add the BL and go years wheeling with 32 or 33" tires while saving up for your SAS and you can always take off the BL later (if you want to). Comes down to personal preference. --------------------------------------------------------- 04 SAS Frontier, 8" Lift Total, 35x12.5x15 MT's with Staun Internal Beadlockers, Calmini Crawler Gears, ARB Front & Rear Air Lockers. |

oh I totally agree with you on the SL being a waste of money if you going to SAS.
but yeah, it is personal preference ---------------------------- 08 Titan 4x4 03 Frontier 4x4 05 Quest |

I dont think it seems too tall. And the SAS will be a couple years down the road. Specially, after I get that rear axle done. AH-HEM...
Do you guys feel it would be worth it to have someone else do it. I've heard it's a real pain in the ass, not to mention 8 hours time to do it. A lesson learned late, is still a lesson learned. |

I've been in some tippy stuff, and honestly, John scared me just as bad a few times when I rode shotty, back when the Pirate ship was still IFS, haha.

We did mine in about 10 hours (it was new to all of us). It's not that difficult, but would help if you had someone there that's done it before. Wish I could tell you when i am available, but I am booked every weekend through June currently. I think the cost of a shop doing it will be more than the cost of the lift itself. Worth checking though. Due to time constraints, I had to have a shop install my SAS kit, even though we could have done it ourselves (SWANKy help). --------------------------------------------------------- 04 SAS Frontier, 8" Lift Total, 35x12.5x15 MT's with Staun Internal Beadlockers, Calmini Crawler Gears, ARB Front & Rear Air Lockers. |

Agreed. Doing the BL on your truck wasn't too difficult, only time consuming. I'm sure if you have a couple people helping that have done a BL before it would take much less time. |

we did ours in about 10 - 12 hours give or take. If you have a friend to do it that helps for sure.

Me and Mikey did mine in like 6 hours.
It goes fast when you have someone that's done it before. ----------------------------- My myspace page. TUPPERWARE!!!! "Never argue with an idiot, they will just drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." |
