Wondering if anyone can give me their experience with either an '05, 6, or 7 Frontier and real-world miles per gallon? For a 6cyl, 4x4, stick, king cab the sticker says 21mpg highway (and I think 19? mpg city?). While looking at a friend's consumer reports, it says they only got 15mpg average. Can I expect at least 20mpg overall? or am I getting my hopes up?
I just can't see buying this truck that I plan on having for the next 10-15 years if I'm only gonna get 15 mpg. Thanks. |

I would expect 15 from the auto, but not manual if driven normally.
Start throwing on lifts, bigger tires, racks, and your mileage will be affected. The newer engines are more fuel efficient than old. There's a few Titan owners impressed w/ their mileage, but I can't recall any later model Frontier owners posting. Maybe you will change that ..................... "Climate change is no longer science. It's politics... Climate change is also about power. Power to control.... It's about who gets to decide: how much energy we will have... where that energy will come from... what it will cost... It's about simulations, scenarios and monsters conjured up by computer models that should never be used to chart government policy -- especially on matters that will profoundly affect our livelihoods, living standards, life spans and dreams of a better future. I will ask my dad how he does. He has an '05 Nismo 4x4, crew cab(4 door), a leer camper shell, and the calmini 2.5" lift.

Thanks, guys. My 94 pickup, 4x4, 4cyl, 5 speed manual gets 22.5 overall (23.5 highway maybe 20 or so city) - and I think that's what it says it should get in the owners manual.
If I could get at least 20 mpg overall in a new frontier, I could live with that. Why can't they make a 4 cyl. with 4x4 anymore??? |

Not that it's the same thing. But, the wifes '05 X gets an average of 18 in mixed driving. Mostly surface roads. When we drove out here she was getting 24ish. it's 4x auto. Hope it helps.

I get around 13/14 city and 19/20 highway on my Titan, but I can get a heavy foot sometimes... I would be willing to bet you'd get anywhere between 15 and 20... depending on circumstances
