So that spilled over into Y2K models too, eh? That sucks. The only way to know for sure is to disassemble and count the splines.

If you have a 31-spline and are considering a Detroit at some point down the line, don't wait too long. I spoke to TracTech yesterday to find out if they were ever going to get off their asses and make 33-spline units for the H233B and the guy said no, definitely not, and they were considering dropping the 31-spline units from their line, just not enough demand.

Hmm... Anyone want to buy a H233B rear with a lockright, 4.625's, and setup for coil springs for say.. $500? It's all been setup very well (My stepdad and I did all the install) There's a little bit of rock rash on the axle, but come on.. smile

You know, MVM, you could always buy my axle, and have the only coil sprung crewcab out there.. hehehe I'll even help you install it when you come down to AZ for the AZ run!

Hold the phone Mikie! Are you serious about the axle? I'd really like to have a mechanical locker in the rear end. Coil over's would be cool as hell. Wonder if it would fit.

Psycho, yeah that was Kegley's truck it all happened to Terrance's Frontier also, but both were king cabs.

The only way to tell is get in there and start counting.

Mikie the only thing holding me back off the bat is I want to regear to a 5.14 F/R at the same time I do the lockers. Hmmmm....need to do some thinking here.

Okay, forget it, just got of the phone with Nissan Mike and going one step further and regearing F/R to 5.14 along with the lockers.

Put it on layaway for a month so should do an install in September. Thought while I'm down there, might as well do gears too.

Damn, Mark. $$$$$! I need the gears too, but am considering going through SLR to get them only because they're cheaper. Mike gets $450/front, $625/rear, where SLR sells them for $475 for each end. Not sure if Mikes come with additional parts to warrant additional cost or not. Can you post what the AC kit comes with so folks can comparision shop? I'm buying R/P's too for my axle swaps.

Hmm, Powertrax lists nothing for Nissan applications on their site, but you say you have a Lock-Right? Am I missing something?

I know Todd (FSRBIKER) was campaigning to get Powertrax to make a No-Slip for us 33-spline guys, but it fell short.

Yeah, no kidding. Mike's comes with the inner bearings for the pinion, I'll get a complete list and post it here for everyone.

The layaway option helps alot, just don't want to have to open that up again to change gears, especially going to a 33-12.50 this fall. Might as well bite the bullet now and get it over with.

My buddy Rob stopped over in his XJ last night, hadn't really seen it since we did 5.14s on it and lockers a couple of weeks ago. That thing can chirp the tires and leave marks in my driveway with 35's on those gears. It's a must, and I hate doing any job twice.

Hey John,

No problem and I say that with total humility. And as a disclaimer: I cancelled my trip next month out to GOX and was surprised by a bonus I thought I would never get at work. Client finally paid so I'm going to use this unique opportunity to get this mod out of the way while I can. If not, it may be a while...you just never know about life sometimes.

ARB: 685 for the front 585 for the rear
Compressor: 199
Upgraded air lines: 120
Rear Ring and Pinion: 450
Front Ring and Pinion: 650 (or vice-a-versa)

Alot of money will be saved on the install since, (with the help of a couple buddies) can be done in my garage. Every single one of my wheelin' boys have changed their own gears and I've helped so they are stoked to get started on my rig.

Especially since now I'm the underdog with out gears or lockers on our runs....Not of long!

It would be so nice with all of us that have frontiers to get together and big one big purchase. I too at some point in time would like to swap out the gears and get f/r lockers.
As is, I am having SLR look into the possibility of designing something for me to lift the front end 6".

Brent, the lockrite application is for 31 spline axles, as I understand it. They're cheap too - under $300.

Hey MVM, I am serious about the axle if you are. It's not coilovers, but rather coils. I'd cut the the top buckets off if you want them too... (Might give me more room for a bigger gas tank...hehehe or propane injection... hehe) I'd go to a full size 60 if you bought my axle. Just let me know. The pathy isn't moving much lately... Just sitting in covered parking... I'll throw in the coils, the shocks, everything from the truck for say.. $600? That's coil springs good for 5-7" lift (depending on weight), all control arms, panhard rod, 5112 shocks, and the axle with locker and 4.625 gears. I suppose if you really needed it, I'd throw in the driveshaft too, since I couldn't really use it after I go to a full size 60.. hehehe

Mikie,

Let me send you an email in the morning when I've got some time. REAL interested in your offer, it sounds too good to pass up really. Hmmmmm, could always do the front locker now....I decided today to hit GOX next month (I know, I know, I'm a fickle BITCH sometimes...Hahah) could always swing by and pick it up on the way home, hey, maybe we could do a run if I come to AZ next month?

Love the idea of a mechanical locker, they always worked flawless on my Jeeps.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Also, need to call Nissan Mike about gears for it. Man....decisions.
