No I didn't say it would COST me $1500, I said I wouldn't build one for less than that. Or I wouldn't charge less than that because it cost me more than $700. If I am working on it, it cost me money because I could be working on a paying job. But just so we are clear, steel is expensive, and has gotten worse lately. A 6' x 20" piece of 1/4" plate sheered and broken at two locations cost me $225 all by itself over 2 yrs ago. I had to buy solid 3/4" bar stock, 1/2" round tubing, 3/8" plate, 14 gauge sheet metal for the lamp pockets, and 1/4x2" flat stock for light tabs. Add to that the supplies that get used up(cut off wheels, grinding discs, and the time, and I KNOW it's cheaper to buy it.

because there aren't any bumpers made for my truck... the ARB for f250s works, but its like $1500... and I would NEVER pay that much for a bumper like that...
Chug
but I really do like the shrockworks bumper better than the ARB...

Gumy you are right on, I was trying to illustrate your point. I don't make bumpers for a living, but I've made 8 of them. The shrockworks bumper will be on order for this Fronty by the end of the week.
