well my gf traded in her mazda for a 02 supercharged auto4x4 , so here is my question has anyone gon coil over setup with the ifs on this? cause torsion bars suck , goin from my truck to hers, ride was horrible

i saw that TC has a kit but for 2400 dollars no coil overs and no extended axles ill pass on that , so i know it can be done just curious to see if anyone has installed a coil over

some dude was talking about doing it on clubfrontier, but he had no idea what was involved.
furthermore i have never heard of such a thing.... seems like a simple thing, but so does alot of hard stuff.
basicly what im trying to say is- its going to be so much work for ifs, that you might as well sas it.

the TC kit does offer extended, heat-treated 300M axles and SAW or Fox coilovers... it's an expensive kit, and I would definately SAS it before dropping 3 g's on an ifs lift...

yeah i could do that but i wanted to get rid of the torsion bars and i figured the best way to do that would be coil overs

I don't know why everyone thinks that switching to coilovers is the cure-all? Thats great if your building from scratch, but changing from T-bars to coil-overs will most likely not be worth the pay-off. I say that because the control arms are what dictate wheel travel, not the stroke of the shock or coil. The only way to get more travel is to make the control arms longer and that will make the rig wider. If you think your just going to replace the shock with a coilover, take your wheel off and see if you can even fit a coil around the current shock. You'll find that the current arms don't give you enough space to put a coil in there and still leave CV axle pass through. Keep your torsio bars and get a good set of gas shocks, I bet that will do the trick.

Congrats on the gen1. I've got a spare set of front gen1 Bilsteins. Marchall may still have the matching rears alongside his house. You can have the fronts I have if you want them.

Does the lift you have include upgraded torsion bars?

yeah it has the uca's , which need new ball joints and the calmini torsion bars
but it doesnt have the idler arm brace , so i need that too
another question for you guys , have any of u done a custom bumper on these and cut back some of the frame in the front? i didnt want to start messing with that cause i was told the air bag sensors are up there

what i wanted to do was trim the frame back some to get a little better approach angle

Steve how many miles on those bilsteins? and do any of you guys have a spare rim truck didnt come with a spare
