Hey all,
I know, I ask allot of questions from ya'all. Here is the next one.

I am going to go ahead and adjust my t-bars and do shackels on my frontier. My problem is that I dont even know what the t-bars look like. (But I am going to learn) Can anyone give me directions to do my t-bars. I am going to do it this weekend. Also, I went to Big-O and found out about the allignment they will do it for 69.99 and the guy told me to wait about 2 weeks till I get it done, does that sound right to you guys? Thanks in advance for any information you can give. (dont get me wrong, I am very mechanical. I have just never dealt with suspension)

Leinad,

I would suggest doing a search using the keywords "t bars" or "torsion bars".

This topic has been covered extensively so you should find a wealth of information.

It's an easy job and well worth the effort so good luck!

There's 2 nuts on top of that bolt - one is a jamb nut and will need to be loosened before any adjustment can be made. Then just get a wrench on the other and adjust by turning the adjustor bolt. Roll the truck back and forth a bit after each adjustment to let thing settle and take your measurements.

Actually its on my HB now Big Grin...he made it. Its only 1/8inch steel but Its works better than nothing and you can "almost" remove it by yourself. I am SURE GLAD I had it on in Big Bear.

Its nice, If you can get me those dimensions, I want to try to get one fabbed up before the run. As if I didn't have enough to do...but I'll delegate this out to a friend of mine with a welder. I'm going to assume also that you have manual trannies, I'll have to see if I can even make it work with my auto tranny. That cross over pipe that runs under my tranny pan is going to be the problem. I'll look under there when I go put my A-arms on here in a few mins.

That was the first one I made. I've since made a second for Chuck (vsmlc or whatever his handle is) but this time I made it 3/16" thick.

Chuck is supposed to post some pics of it painted but hear are a few pics of it in the raw.

Dimensions to come.

This is something that I may try to do this week. Looks like it can be cut out easily with a metal cutting blade in a jigsaw & then welded together. Did you use a cardboard template or did you use trial and error to fit it in place?

Trial and error my friend. I would suggest making a template first, especially when it comes to hole placement for mounting bolts. Plywood wood would work also.

As for dimensions, its pretty straight forward. Just crawl under your truck with a tape measure and you'll see what I mean. I'd give you dimensions but my wife has my truck at this time.

As for cutting 3/16" steel, I used a metal blade on a good skill saw and it took forever on the long cuts. I would suggest that if you're going to make it yourself then you should get the basic outside square dimension and pay the extra $10 to have the metal supply place cut it. Thats what I'm going to do next time.

Mounting was fairly easy on the HB. Most of the wholes are pre-existing on the crossmenbers...just have to drill out bigger.

Alost forgot to note that the last plate I made is actually about 4" longer than the one in the photo and goes past the t-bar adjusting crossmenber.
