I have a 2000 Frontier SE-v6. I am not going to put a lift on it but I want better off road performance. Would removeing the say bars be a good idea considering I only go off roading once maybe every six months. Also, what would removeing the sway bars do as far as handling. Thanks for your time.

Depends on what kind of off roading you do. Sounds like you should leave them on. They do make quick disconnects, try www.calmini.com

My Hardbody only has a front bar (I don't think any Hardbodies came with rear stabilizer bars), but I leave it off all the time. The truck rides so much better with the stabilizer bar off. It rides more level. With the bar on, the front of the truck tries to follow every pitch of the road (makes sense, being that the bar tries to keep each side of the truck equal in terms of suspension travel). With the bar off, the ride is much more plush, and I don't notice any increase in body roll. There's probably some additional roll, but there was a lot to begin with, and this is a truck so I don't mind it. I really enjoy the better ride and better articulation off road. Try it and see how you like it. It's a free "mod" and if you don't like it, you can always put them back on. I don't go off road very often either, but even if I never did, the better ride is worth it.
