How do I know which shocks to buy for my new Y2K X?

It has a '83 Waggy Axle with Leaf Springs in the front and stock Nissan in the rear.

The shocks have been painted and have no markings on them.

I was thinking about just taking them to the parts place for a better match but I wanted to poll the group for "tips" on what might work better.

I do know I want to go with the Rancho 9000's as I had them on my pathy and loved them.

Just looking for rears?

Rancho 5112s would probably work, but your approach is best.

I just measured how long I needed mine to be and ordered them according to length.

Here's the link to the thread I posted when I was looking up ranchro part numbers. By the way, 9k's are a good choice. Adjustably Is awesome.

I knocked the crud off of them and found out they were 30" Fabtech FTS7333

This is the one I think will match well..

Rancho RS99058
18" compressed
29.8" extended

Here's a great link I found on Rancho Shocks for 2008

http://www.gorancho.com/products/docs/08Shocks.pdf

I did end up with the 9000xl - 999058, they should be here in a few days...
