Aparently the ol axle grease doesn't work so well on my poly control arm bushings. Does Advance or Auto Zone carry silicone grease in their stores? I need some before Saturday...

I've had good luck with fully synthetic like mobile 1. Some recommend white lithium grease.

Stay away from anything lithium based. A good marine grade aluminum based grease will last much longer. The lithium based greases do not do well with water.

You can pick up a tub of the sticky silicone grease that comes with the poly bushings from suspension shops sometimes. One tub will last you about 3 lifetimes I think.

If you search for poly bushing grease on google you'll find the right stuff. I'm not sure if the stuff Ben posted is specifically for poly bushings. The stuff for poly bushings is very sticky so that it lasts longer. Any lithium grease would work, but unless it's "sticky" it's not going to stay in there very long.

the grease for boat trailers is nutty. i got it for my boat and didnt think anyting of getting it on my hands. i tried the normal gojo hand cleaner and the hose and it barely budged the stuff, it works VERY good.

I meant silicone grease there, not Lithium. Sorry about that.

Another option: Calcium Sulfonate Complex grease. Use it on the wheel bearings and also has been reducing squeak on UCA's.

A quick article:

I don't remember. I'll try to get back in the shop tonight and get the tube.

It was from Napa, though.

I've been looking for the tube but can't find it. I'll post the name when it turns up.

The shop is a complete mess after this week...
