How much can i reindex/crank my torsion bars for lift without too many problems?
I am looking into the 2wd leaf swap in the rear which from reading looks as though i will get 3-4" of lift. Can i level the front or atleast close to level? Or should i just do a add a leaf or shackle for approx 2" lift? |

You can get about an inch and a half or so while still using stock upper control arms. Add another inch to that with aftermarket arms.

How much space do you have between your upper control arms and the bumpstop underneath it? You should be able to squeeze a finger in there.

You are not really adding any lift to the suspension that way. You are just making it ride higher in the travel.
To answer your question, 2" is about all you will be able to get from the stock UCA. At that there was a pile of shims on mine to get it alinged. I also had to use longer bolts. It was not worth it in hind site. 1992 Pathfinder SAS RIP 1994 pathy RIP 1982 720 RIP 1985 720 turbo diesel - Sold 1979 CJ-5 - Sold 1994 4Runner - DD for sale 1992 YJ Current project |

If you want to keep your truck within factory alignment specs the max amount of lift you'll get is 2-2.5" of lift with after market uca's.
I would not crank up the t-bras on stock uca. It will be a major pain to align. I would go with a/c 3 add-a-leafs out back, rough country or supperlift uca's up front. If you have nice expensive tires on your truck I stress the importance of keeping the alignment good. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

If you mean when the truck is on the ground i have lots of room still. Im probly just at stock height now as the truck was pretty low in the front when i got it. Its about 1/2" lower than the rear right now and i know my rear springs are sagged. How do the add a leafs compare to the 2wd spring swap? |
