well i wana get some new uca's for my hardbody. i was thinking about getting the superlift ones from AC. does anyone have any opinions on them? or would you suggest getting another set? i just liked them b/c they looked strong and have zerks on em. but i kno some aftermarket uca's dont allow for a very good bj angle. what do you think is the best set?

i also want to lift the back up a bit too. i was considering getting the 3 leaf AAL from AC. any thoughs on these? or a better suggestion to get 3in from the back? my stock leaves are lookin pretty flat right now.

currently my truck has a 2in t-bar crank and a 3in bl. id like to get a little more lift so i can fit some 34x10.5 ltb's (offroad only...dont worry lol) right now i got 32's on there and they fit fine with no rubbing. i also understand the fact that im prob gonna hafta to a little trimmin so the 34's fit good. and also keep this in mind... im on a tight budget so i dont want to go super expensive...but i understand how much this stuff costs...so nothin crazy please

thanks for your help!

Are you getting the 34s for a 16 so you can put them on your current rims, or blackspokes or what? To fit that I'd recommend a little more than typical backspacing, they shouldn't be hard to keep off the frame and out of the body at the same time.

I can't recommend a good rear lift solution, I can just say that I did shackles and shouldn't've. I got the 1.5" shackles from AC, and while they're of superior quality, my springs are now beyond shot.

I have a used Calmini sl for a HB I might sell if you wanna go that way. I was going to replace the AC stuff on my truck with it, but decided not to. I don't remember which brand of UCAs is typically frowned upon, but most are good, regardless.

im gonna get the 34's for a 15in rim... so if they stick out a bit, it wont really matter much to me since they will only be on while on the trails and while driving to and from them.

i really dont even know what the stock backspacing is... do you? i kno the wheels i have now have less than the stockers... im going to measure next time i rotate the tires. i may want to get a little less bs on the wheels with the 34's so they can stick out a little more.

i was askin over on the NOR board about uca's...and i think i may got with the rough country ones. any comments or opinions on them?

and yea, i wanna do more than just shackles b/c my springs are lookin pretty saggy right about now

Most of the UCA's out there do the same things and have common balljoint angles. Pick a set based on price and go with that. I think the bushings in the Calmini arms are better than the ones in the AC arms (in my experience) but they're also good about sending you new bushings when you need them....and they cost less, so it's a matter of preference there.

As for AAL's out back...get a multi leaf setup. Calmini has a dual AAL and AC carries a 3 AAL pack. Stay away from those with the short single AAL, as it will snap your other springs over time.

I thought you were planning a SAS in the summer. Why you gonna get new UCAs now?

DON'T WASTE $$ ON CONTROL ARM "LIFTS"! Especially if you plan an SAS soon. 33x10.5s will fit w/just a 2" body lift and minor trimming. W/some major whackin', they can fit w/no lift. If you must have 12.5" wide 33's then a 2-3" body is needed to clear the body. Still some trimming will be needed. Your tie rods and ball joint (and CVs) will thank you.
34's will just take a little more trimming.

Yes they will go eventually, but near as quick. If it was a Total Chaos type suspension setup, then yes, it would be worth it. You gain travel, and off-road-ability w/it. A-arm lifts are just glorified torsion bar cranks to fix bad angles caused by the crank.

Crank T-bars 1/2" above center, trim fenders, 3" body lift, rear double AAL, and you're golden. Add Calmini steering to that, and you won't worry about steering issues while you're saving for the SAS. Re-sell the steering during SAS build (something you can't do w/the stock junk). Yes $500+ seems like a lot for steering, until you need to replaces the stock stuff 4 times or more in a year! At around $300 each time, it adds up quick! Now how does the Calmini steering sound?

Yeah Ty go with the Superlift or Rough Country ones. The balljoint angles are a little better on them than the A/c ones.
