The black dust boots that come with the Calmini steering (McQuay-Norris TRE #ES409R) don't hold up long. On one end of the centerlink, the boot split the first time the steering installed, disappearing shortly thereafter.
The other one hung in there, but didn't really do much to keep the dust and grit out. Constant greasing seemed to help. Was cruising the Energy Suspension site and found that they make generic dust boots for TRE's. I recently put on low pro UCA bumpstops and liked the product, so thought I'd give the TRE boots a whirl. I measured the TRE's and decided to go with ES part 9.13101. These took two days to order thru Checker for only $4 a pair. I also got new TRE's for the Calmini centerlink, for only $16 each (the same McQuay-Norris part). When the boots came in, they fit perfectly. They're thick, soft and supple. They stretch a bit, sealing up the TRE joint nicely, much better than the plastic boots that come with the McQuay-Norris parts. Not a huge thing, but it makes me want to search thru Energy Suspension's products to look for other things to replace around my truck. Who knows, maybe someday they'll make a carrier bearing for the 2 piece Fronty driveshaft... Regards, -matt |

The bump stops are generic and based on measurement to get the proper fit.
ES Bump Stops Part #9.9116 is similar to OEM on my truck. Part #9.9102 is what I went with (low profile). Part #9.9132 is the ultra low profile. On my truck, the brake line bracket on the UCA is attached with a small bolt. The tip of that actually digs into the UCA bumpstop at compression. So far, the low pro seems to be holding up pretty well, but I'd imagine the ultra low pro would get cut thru pretty quickly. In fact, I drove a fair distance at full compression when I broke a t-bar adjuster and the bump stop held up to the torture. No metal on metal grind that I could discern while limping home. One other thing I should note. Checker always has a little difficulty in finding these parts in their computer. The part number requires a color code and so it takes them a while to track down the proper syntax that will return it in their computer. Regards, -matt |

I have the ultra-low profile ones on my pathfinder. They have been on there for almost 2 years and I have had no problems with them or their wear. Just an FYI.
