Hi to All,

Could anybody recommend a good place to get a front-end alignment? I work at 56th St and Loop 101, so Pinnacle Nissan is nearby.

Is it worth $89.95 to have Nissan do it?

I live off the north side of town (Happy Valley and I-17), so anything up that way would work, too.

I also wanted to get the torsion bars cranked a little (.5" - 1") so my 31x10.50's will stop rubbing inside the front fender wells.

Any place in particular you might recommend?

Many thanx for your suggestions.

Regards,

-matt

I've been taking my Pathfinder to 3A automotive on Hatcher east of 19th Ave north of (19th Ave @ Dunlap crossroads). They are really nice and have a courtesy van to take you wheever you need to go and then pick you up after they get
done with your vehicle. The alignment is only $50 or so there.

I've even had good luck with Sears doing my alignment. Took 3 hours typically, but they always did a good job with it and actually put in the proper shims to get the camber right. Cost was around $50 there too. The trick with Sears is to check it out really good afterwards, and stick around to watch them do the job.. I had to go the 3A after a while though, since Sears decided that since my truck was being offroaded, they wouldnt align it for me anymore.

If push comes to shove, Nissan will do a good job on it though.. they may not be willing to do a torsion crank though. You could easily do that yourself before you take it in.

When I had my truck aligned last at 3A, I asked if they would crank the torsions to level the truck out (they were already cranked pretty good). They told me they are happy to crank the torsion bars if needed.

We use a place in Tempe called Shumans. $39.95 and have never had a problem. It's the only shop that DR will take the Meany to for an alignment.

I used Network Alignment last time, they have a 6 month guarantee on their alignments...in Phoenix, and with a 4x4...I'll take it. They have a few shops in town, I went to the one on Cave Creek just S. of Sweetwater. What side of town are you on...and BTW welcome to the board.

Al Boardman of Al's Unibody is the best frame straightener in the southwest. He uses 3A Automotive off of Hatcher for his personal vehicles and recommended them to me. They've done plenty of work for me in the past since. Highly recommended.

Hi,

Many thanx to all for the suggestions. Network Alignment can get me in on Saturday, so I'm going to go with them for now. I'll definitely keep 3A in mind, though, as they sound highly recommended. Saturday convenience won out at this time. Big Grin

Thanatoz, I live on the North side, off Happy Valley and the 17.

And BTW, thanx for the welcome!

Regards,

-matt

They seem to be good people there at Network, but definetly keep 3A in mind. We've been using them for all our mechicanical work for near a decade if not more.

Just a quick follow-up. Network got me in/out in 25 minutes, including adjusting the torsion bars and re-aligning the truck.

Rubbing problems seem to be alleviated (went out by Horseshoe/Bartlett on Sunday) and truck doesn't drive any more harsh than it did before, near as I can tell.

Thanx again.
