Back in the day (2 yrs ago), I ordered superlift arms from Summit Racing. See if they stock them. When I bought them, they were the only company that stocked the arms alone. Most places it was the arms and shackles.

Definatly Calmini. My AC arms work gret but the craftsman ship of the calmini is 3 times that of the AC arms. If I would do it again I would go calmini.

Whats up guys! Im in the process of doing a lift on my 93 pathy right now and from what ive seen in this forum it seems that most of you guys are favoring the Calmini UCA.
I guess its worth the extra $125 for a nice looking and beefier UCA and I dont have to deal with allignment problems and any sort of problem down the road so Im going with this UCA. As for the rear springs,Ive seen guys use F150 or Bronco springs. What would you guys recommend? Ive seen a post where the F150 springs can be picked up at a junkyard for $50. Do they perform as good as the Calmini or Ac springs? Any input on this is greatly appreciated guys. Thanks I forgot to mention that im going with 31's, Can I go any bigger after doing this 3 inch lift? |

with removal of the mud flaps you can get a 32 under it and maybe a small 33.
(soon to be) locked rocked lets roll. |

There'sa guy on AC selling his Calmini UCAs and tbars for cheap, just an FYI. I've had my AC UCAs on for several months and like them, but I found a sweet deal on a set of the calmini arms, so I'm going to try to compare them. I've heard of alignment problems with the Calmini UCAs, however the guy I'm buying mine from said he never had any such issues. Just food for thought...

Just so you guys know, the Superlift and Rough Country arms are made by the same manufacturer and are exactly the same. The only difference between the two is that the RC UCA's are cheaper. The AC UCA's are crappy. I've had a set. I wouldn't buy anything from AC if I had to.

Don't come on here vendor bashing without facts to back up your statements. If you think they were crappy, explain why. The set I have are in their second truck and I've had no issues other than one set of worn out bushings when they were in the Frontier. The fact is, all A-Arm lifts work on the same principle. It's a slightly longer than stock arm to correct camber, with an improved ball joint location that enables the use of serviceable balljoints that are working within their optimal range of movement. 1998 Frontier 4x4, 2002 Xterra 4x4, and Z28 street rocket Pass here and go on. I'm going to go with my original post. The link I posted no longer has pictures of the three different UCA. Superlifts and rough country’s are not made my the same manufacture. They are very similar in comparison. Anyways, I bought my superlift A-arms used from a fellow member on this board. I've never replaced the bushings. The a-arms been on my truck for over a year and I just greased them for the first time. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

Thanatoz and I did some measuring and comparing of the AC, Superlift, and stock a-arms for the D21/WD21 chassis. Superlift arms were slightly longer, the balljoint angle was changed and the balljoint mount pad was lowered in relation to the arms about an inch, to allow the arms to be closer to horizontal on a lifted vehicle. The AC arms were exactly the same length as stock, the balljoint angle appeared to be identicle to stock, but the balljoint mount pad was lowered similarly to the Superlift arms. Additionally, the distance between the bushing eyes was wrong, too close together by nearly half an inch, causing a hole to be worn in the frame where the bushing eye contacted it. We were able to correct this by spreading the arms to stock spec, but we couldn't do anything about the angles or length. These problems may not appear in later versions; these were purchased before they started putting grease zerks in them. My personal beef with AC follows: I ordered the Superlift 3" kit which was pictured and described as including the front arms with bushings and rear greaseable shackles that were spec'ed at being 3" over stock. I understood that they would only lift the back of the truck 1.5 inches which was fine, as the truck sat high in the rear anyway. I received the kit, and it came with single leaf Rancho add-a-leafs for the rear, instead of the Superlift shackles. I called AC and was told that the kits were now shipping that way because people were complaining that the shackles didn't give 3" of lift, and that's the way it was. I had to repeatedly call and go up the chain, but they all stood by their assertion that they had done nothing wrong. They would not send me a return ticket, and I had to purchase a seperate set of shackles that they graciously allowed me to buy for the cost of the add-a-leafs, which were $60, although at first they wanted to charge me $100 which is their normal price. Of course, when they sent me the add-a-leafs instead of the shackles, they didn't offer me a discount. They then expected me to send the add-a-leafs back to them on my dime and they'd return the $60. I was highly pissed by this time, and didn't wish to deal with the situation any longer, so I kept the AAL's until a friend had a need for them, and I will not deal with AC again. I will also tell my story anytime the subject comes up. I realize that there isn't a whole lot of aftermarket support for Nissans, but I can't support a vendor that would deal with consumers in this fashion. I'm sure there are many people who have had nothing but good experiences with AC, and perhaps they will post their reviews of the arms and AC in general. I hope this post isn't perceived as 'vendor bashing', but as an honest portrayal of my experiences with AC. -Spike 'Tolerance allows the weeds to overwhelm the garden' |

Nope, Ben. That's not vendor bashing. That's an objective comparison.
Simply saying something sucks is not. And...the AC Arms I have are D22 arms, not D21 arms. 1998 Frontier 4x4, 2002 Xterra 4x4, and Z28 street rocket Pass here and go on. You're on the road to heaven - Kerouac |
