I'm pretty sure mine are shot too, probably replacing the CV axles without disconnecting the tire rods didn't help. 11doh

I've never had an issue replacing CV axles without disconnecting tierods....that shouldn't have hurt anything.

Yes but the diffrence between you and me Andy is, you know what your doing. Dork To get that half shaft off seemed I had to twist and turn that knuckle still attached to TRE a million diffrent ways. Probably didn't hurt it, but couldn't of help it. smiley42

BTW, steering is HERE! smiley43

and no it doesn't come with outers.

The trick to doing a halfshaft easily is unbolting the shock and the upper ball joint. It's cake then.

I learned by doing too. Big Grin

yeah, remove the brake caliper, pull the shock out on the d21 and undo the upper ball joint, and swing everything down out and forward (extending the CV shaft). You can then pull the inner CV joint in twoard the tire and it comes right out.

BTW, with manual hubs, you dont even have to remove the hubs, just remove the cap on the hub and pull the C clip.. out comes the halfshaft.

I had mine out in 20 minutes.. and back together in that time as well, last time I did CV boots.

Oooh, I've been taking the rotor off, but you're right, it would come out that way then, wouldn't it? Although I figure if you take that much apart, it's not that much more to pull the rotor and get some fresh grease on the wheel bearings.

Thanatoz,I had the same problem when I replaced my half shafts.
Once I figured things out the other side was much quicker also.
I'm learning a lot from other members on the forum and if you ever need some help, let me know. Smile
