Are your shocks mounted right side up? (can down)

Have you cranked them up to the max dampening setting (fully clockwise)?

My old Rs9000s are doing great on my pathy. I keep them at 3-4 on the road and bump them up to 5 on the trail when heavily loaded.

Just out of curiosity, is there a "proper" way to mount em? I have mine where the adjuster (RS9000) is on the axle. If I wanted to, could they be mounted the other way, or would it give me trouble?

Sorry for the 'tarded question. Dork

according to rancho you are supposed to mount them with the adjuster facing the back so it doesnt get tagged.

Shocks dont give you lift though.....do u mean you are considering springs in the back

Greg.. from what I've heard, you're supposed to mount the can-side so it is towards the bottom on the RS9000s. It is best to position the adjuster so that it wont get tagged on a rock, like robin said.

Right, the only problem I have with that is the passenger side shock is on the front of the axle. I would have to mount that shock "upside down" in order to keep the adjuster from getting tagged on the rocks. If I have to mount one upside down, I might as well do both that way. But, they are supposed to be mounted with the can side facing down..... aargh.

Maybe I can relocate the shock to the rear side of the axle and have both shocks back there... Any problems with that?

I would think you might alter the geometry negativley by doing that, but I do see F-series with shocks like that.
