I installed my new lo-pro bumpstops this morning...actually, I stuck then in there but couldn't bolt them down. I'll use duct tape...

Anyways, I had to contort my truck in different position to get those things to go in. So i took some pictures:

New vs. old...not very much difference Confused Oh well...

Am I maxed out up front?

Pass side: Yes

Other side: Yes

So, since these CVs are supposed to have 18* of movement either way, can I cut down those lower bump stops a little? Anybody have any idea what the compression/expansion measurments are for these shocks? They are the adjustable ones.

dont worry about the shocks.... if the max out and break run without them. I ran with no shocks for a few days and it just had a lot more bounce and jounce to it but not to much more than riding eith dead shocks

Will, my low pro's were actually more 'lo-pro' than yours. That's kinda weird.

Anyway, there is enough travel in the stock shocks to accomadate the bumpstops.

Kinda surprised yours isn't that much different from stock. Confused

They had lo-pro and ultra lo-pro. Dangit! I guess I got the wrong one. I'll fix this...

Brian, how tall are yours?

I'm not sure off-hand Will? I'll be back in town Monday afternoon and can give you a measurement then. Smile

I bought mine off of Les(95hardbodyxev6)

I'm hoping AC will let me send them back and then send me the ULP ones. They are the same price.

I went ahead and cut down the stock ones. It was easy. They are just a little bit shorter than the lo-pros. If I can't send these back to AC then I'll use them for the LCA bump stops, but add some washers under it so it's not too low.

If you have a Dremel, you can cut your stock ones down very easily. I shoulda done this instead of buying new ones Roll Eyes

I got impatient and stuck my new lo-pros in place of the bottom bump stops, then cut the top ones down. As soon as I get a measurment for the size of those ultra lo-pros, I'll cut them down a little more.

After that I'm going to make sure nothing will break or bind in the full length of suspension travel, and if something is then i'll deal with it.

ok sorry i kept you waiting... cut the damn things off. your steering box will not let you go much farther than that little chunk of metal anyways.

I am assuming you know not to hold yoursteering wheel locked over after removing them so keep that in mind. Mine have been gone for 13 years and no problems so far.

Well, the top ones are cut down and the bottom were replaced by the lo pros I bought. Everything works fine for now but I'll have to put the stock bumpstops back on the bottom whend I get bigger tires. Too much compression and they would be rubbing like mad.

Yeah, that's duct tape and it's been there for at LEAST 2 years. I need to redo it though as it's worn through.

Nick, imo I would put the factory bumpstops back on with aftermarket UCA's. My bet is that you are getting a little binding at full droop and that will lead to CV death.
