33x10.50 versus 33x12.50

What are the pros and cons of the 10.50........

Like it would fit in the wheel well better..

Yes. Would also turn easier, probably less rolling resistance as well.

What a helpful bunch. torch

I'm putting on a 2 inch BL and 33's, ran across these 10.5's and hadn't seen that size before.

Cheaper too.

33X 10.5" tires are better in snow than 12.5's because they don't float as much. If you ever have a chance to ask a farmer what tire size to use in the snow, they will always say thinner is better. Their is less surface area and thus more pressure per square foot to get down where the traction is.

Joel put on 33x12.50's with a 2 inch body lift, and if I remember right he had to smash in his fire wall with a hammer and then reweld the seam.

I think better offset rims *might* have prevented some of that. But it works great.

I think a 12.50 looks and performs better off-road than a 10.50 (most of the time).

Like others have mentioned about the 10.50 you will probably get better gas milage. But just suck it up and make the 12.50 work Matey...yargh!

The 12.50 will probably be better in the rocks. More rubber meets the road.

Yeah Andy thats what I was thinking, I have the same cheap rims as Joel, but they will change with the new tires.

I had to break this new tire thing to Becky last night. It took awhile to get those arms uncrossed. Big Grin

Its a safety issue.. you need new tires to stay safe. yeah... thats it. Smile

On the plus side.. you have a pretty much brand new set of tires you can sell to offset the cost.

Strange That shit is sooooo funny!!!!! Anywho...yeah...like they said w/ the 10.50....better MPG and better to cut through the snow. For the 12.50s though.....you'll widen your track width, which is much better to do if you're going to lift your vehicle now (or later) to offset the height of the truck. Just my $.02...Later....
