The springs I used in the rear are 5.5" Superlift coils for an Early Bronco frontend.

The truck is pretty tall now.. but I'm gonna see how these new springs work out. The coils were a good 1/16" thicker than the ones that were in it, so it stiffened the backend up quite a bit. I will also have to do a panhard drop to re-center the rear axle.

If they dont flex as good as I'm hoping, I'll see if I can go to a softer coil spring. These springs gave me 4" of lift in the rear over where I was before.. so about 6"+ lift over stock.

Here are the photos:

The truck now sits pretty level. The rear is just a little higher.

You can see the slight rake:

One problem with this modification is that it pulls the rear tires forwards quite a bit. Eventually, I'll do a custom longarm link setup to get the axle position back to where it needs to be, but this should work fine in the meantime.

I also had to notch the crossmember for the driveshaft:

I removed the panhard bar in the rear so I can make a panhard drop bracket to re-center the axle and prevent the rearend from kicking over when hitting bumps:

Looks a lot better now:

yeah i know what you are talking about with the wheels moving up to the front of the fender well. on my truck i have 1.5" lift coils and a 3" coil spacer. i want to move the axle back too but if i made longer radius arms wouldn't i have to get a longer drive shaft too b/c on the pathys they are one piece shafts. also what about the two links on top the differential housing? would those need to move as well?
let me know what you think.

BTW- YOUR RIG LOOKS TOO AWESOME

Smile Great looking Pathy John, When you do your Longarm link i would like to see it so i could do it on my IFS Pathy. I'd like to take my SAS one out to go on a trial run but it need some work to make it street legal first. unless i can make something to tow it instead. Ive been thinking about extending the links for some time now. Basically, the axle bracketry will remain as is and all the changes will be made to the frame of the truck instead. I'll hack off the beam that the stock upper link mounts are on and pull it out. The lower link mounts will then be cut off the frame. The original upper mounts will be reused after sectioning and widening the tube. That will get welded in about 8" further forward from where it was originally. I'll have to fab up new frame-side mounts for the lower links, which will be placed about 10-12" forward of their existing location. The links themselves will use johnny joints and will be adjustable so I can tune the suspension to my liking.
