Alright.. finally had the time to upload my photos and pick out some of the best ones from the run. Overall, this was a great run. We ran into several of the Mitsubishi guys out at the Martinez Cabins. They were great to hang out with.

We did the routine Box Canyon to Martinez cabins and then ran to the Coke Ovens. But, this time, we took the more difficult back way, which has one steep right hand bend, with several 2-3ft steps in a row. Major wheel lifting ensued. I also managed to bash my rear quarter on a rock coming down off this particular series of shelves.

We then went down and played in the river bed. The water was very low, so we played in the mud. Then, I tried to come up out of the river and managed to just sink the whole driver's side into the muck. Jim had his winch handy and was more than eager to use it on me. Good thing too.. The truck was slowly sinking and started rolling over onto its side. The upper wheels had no weight on them, so they just spun. Jim winched me out with no problems and we all got a kick out of it. We all had a blast on this run!!

Here are the pics I took.

Scene from the lower desert:

Hanging out with the Mitsubishi guys:

Jim's navigator Phoebe:

Andy negotiating one of the many rock obstacles.

One of the views from the top of the canyon:

Another view with all our trucks:

Andy coming off a steep ledge obstacle:

Yet another ledge obstacle (not the same as above). This one was about a 4ft ledge:

Jim coming down the same ledge:

The view descending into the canyon:

Andy on the corner shelf on the back way to the Coke Ovens:

The coke ovens, for those that haven't seen them. These were used to burn mesquite wood to turn into coke for firing nearby mine smelters.

Andy coming up out of the Gila River:

Andy in the mud of the river bed:

More mud:

Here are the pics that Jim took:

Andy testing out new gears and new front and rear air lockers.. This hillclimb is extremely steep and is known for trashing steering, drivetrain, and sheetmetal:

My truck coming down the main coke ovens trail. This is about as easy as it gets:

My truck at the top of the corner shelf obstacle on the back road to the coke ovens:

Coming down!. The rear driver's side tire is almost off the ground, and the frontend is planted pretty good:

Andy in a crossing on the Gila:

Woops.. Here's my stuck, and Jim hooking the winch up. It got worse than this as the driver's side kept sinking:

Truck is finally out.. and the ruts in the muck:

Hahhahahaa I've been there MANY times. The worst is when the guy in front of you somehow slings it from 50 feet away and it's hits you right in the face big grin

Hahaha.. yeah, the steering works great. smile So far, 2 days of HARD wheeling. Both of which would have ruined a new stock CL for sure.. I put it through the toughest spots I felt comfortable doing, and its still as tight as the day I put it in.

My window was down. Spent 5 minutes scrubbing on my windshield with a squeegie the next morning at the gas station before it occurred to me the mud was on the inside smile

The resolution on the "originals" is amazing. I pulled up the one with me carrying a wheel off the ground and clicked on original. Could see about 25% of it on my big 21" monitor here at work! You can actually read the LSD oil only sticker on the diff!!!! Eyes
