yeah, it was a bit scary cause I went downhill sliding and there was some inertia involved.

I was lucky and had no marks or damage at all.

some other pics of my friends:

other of the complications:

the cherokee slided into a big crack, there were three ways to go, but all were very eroded. after the stuck we used the winch, but there was another slide with the resultant damage.

bad angle, the tire was almost out.

my other friend's jeep

and his turn to be pictured.

He was driving here being spotted by a friend without experience spotting. we had to walk back a lot to help him because some of the obstacles were imposible to be driven back.

thanks for watching and ignore the bad english.

You guys have some really nice trails down there. Would love to come down there that run some of them but doubt that will happen anytime in near future.

Maybe AZ Run XXV can be "AZ Run to Mexico" and be 2 weeks long!

smiley36Get rid of those street tires, but I guess you figured that out by now.

Hey GummyB, you realize many of the AMERICAN BAJA1000 teams( and others) are boycotting the races in Mexico, now due to the frequent shakedowns, robberies, kidnappings by Federales, cops, men in black, etc.?

What about the home invasion a coupple weeks back by men in Phoenix police uniforms( swat uniforms, I believe)- the Mex mafia was at work here!
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=home+invasion+swat+mexican++mafia+phoenix

My superintendent's brother's friend is a racer( coming back from mex 1000), was going over at the Mexicali checkpoint w/ his nice toyhauler .. HE was told by a border guard to pay 1000$ or "we take it". He called the MExican Consulate, other american officials, all had a powwow w /the guard( to no effect) ..
He paid the $1000. He says he will never again race in Mexico....

And that's just one of the milder stories.. There are many that are more violent ,and costly.

smiley34 just say no to Mexico runs- no offense, highprofile, but the military/ police in your country are quite corrupt, and the drug cartels/ Mexican mafia run it( and are on a killing spree at the moment).

I can relate to that first picture. I did the same thing a time or two, but never near that angle. You must have been close to going over on that one. Eyes

No doubt that's good, but he STILL has us beat.
Maybe we can convince MYTHBUSTERS to see how far a Nissan can tip before actually flopping over. Cool

Dan, what was the thought process behind the camo tire cover on the YELLOW x? smiley36

and...

about the complicated relation between our countries I rather not to make opinions, because I know that topics like this have often bad endings.

All I want to tell you is that I've been both sides of the border (legally), lived in the frontier for a while, studied in europe and traveled to several contries, and all I have learned is that I fit perfectly everywhere, so I like to think of me as a global citizen.

peace.

I've no problem w/ the people of mexico, or yourself, it's the gov't officals being corrupted by the drug cartels that is the main problem -as far as risk to tourists who go down there.

Take some fancy "toys" down, across the border( looking like a rich gringo), and you'll only attract (bad)attention.

Nice trail, by the way. What state is that in?
