This past weekend I got together with Pete and Jay from the Southern Ontario Xterra Club to wheel a bit in Bobcageyon area (Yes the same Bobcageyon from the Tragically Hip song). They had arrived at the trail and wheeled it on Saturday but I had a good old fashioned pig roast to attend to so I decided to be fashionably late. I arrived at the trailhead at 3AM and wheeled it solo exploring some side trails until I arrived at the campsite just after 5AM. I love wheeling solo at night. You get a nice rush from water crossings and such.

These are Pete and Jay's trucks at the campsite.

In the morning we ran the trail back to BobC and we met up with Craig fella who brought his new '05 to try on something a little harder than local sand pits. I run the trail (again) with him and Pete. Jay decided to spend the afternoon in the town as it's a very beautiful little place.

Back to us on the trail, water crossings are fun!

Here I am making a mockary of a little mud hole. Fun stuff! Gotta love the MTs.

My GPS setup performed flawlessly. I traced everything on the TOPO Maps.

Pete and his desire to flip his truck and collect the insurance money. Oh what crazy quick get rich scheme won't you think of next?

I love my tires. They're like mini-Krawlers. I had absolutely no problems with climbing this little rock using nothing but sidewall and side lugs.

So then the boys had to take off and make their way back home. I decided to stay in the area and wheel the trails solo until I got bored/tired/too mosquito bitten.

First thing I run into was this turtle! Hello little fella!

Then I started going through some nice and tight trails obviously not very used. It's very nice to be in spots that aren't used by 4x4 clubs on weekly basis.

Hello new desktop background. This place was absolutely beautiful.

Super nice views left and right of the trail.

WTF is this crap? Somebody likes to refer to this as "bridge" I called it "beat the shit out of my undercarriage".

Luker loves his mud. But he's not stupid enough to drive into a swamp in the middle of nowhere. Luckily there is a bypass visible to the left.

The bypass was a very tight squeeze between trees. Lot's of maneuvering required but I managed to slip through.

Hmmm "No access, Private Property!" I guess the little Pathy must take a bypass to continue.

Say hello to the official "Pistriping Tree of Death" I have some permanent markings on my truck from this one.

I continued a bit down this trail. I had to use my winch to get some fallen trees from across the path. I also had to navigate some very tight spots but then I got to this glorious triumph of Canadian Engineering. Golden Gate has nothing on this little gem! I decided to park the truck and take a hike (as far as the mosquitos would allow me) to see what's ahead. It didn't look good. This trail wasn't used buy trucks at all, but by 4-wheelers. No way the Pathy was going to squeeze through. I had to abandon my hopes of crossing this glorious bridge and turn around. Oh snap.... "Pinstriping Tree of Death" was waiting for one more stab at my truck. Frown

Holy crap... this new trail is like a highway compared to the one I was just on!

Here was a cool little hill climb. Super slick surface and big trees only inches from sheetmetal.

This trail was really fun with no spotter. I had to get out of my truck and allow mosquitos dinner time every 10 seconds. It actually turned out to be a dead end. So I had the pleasure of making another 35 point turn to head back.

Wheeling remote trails at night! Wheeee! fun stuff.

Bonus food pic from Pete/Jay's campsite: GOT BACON?

Dude, you post some of the best pics! Thanks for sharing on N4W. Was going to ask about the mosquitoes until I read down a little farther in your post. Isn't that the national bird of Canada?
