I just grabbed a few pictures. The flares really make the wheel well smaller as they hang over the edge about an inch. I really don't like the look without them or I'd just take them all off. They also have holes drilled in the fender so I'd need to find a way to fill those in and make them look 1/2 way decent. By the way, has anyone ever seen the Bushwacker factory style flares? They make them for mine but I have no idea what they're like. I want soft rubber flares!

Wow, that does look a lot different. In your other pics, the flares were definitely hindering flex. Got any pics of the front? Daniel 1999 Frontier XE 2WD I4 AUTO - RIP sold 11/01/05 1994 Pathy XE 4WD V6 5 SPD - Bought 1/29/06

35s and a locker will overcome alot of the "no flex" of the IFS. IMHO. You could always cut some fender and then use bed-liner to make sudo-flares. It would clean it up some and keep the rust away. What do you think of those TrXus MTs? They look like a pretty good all around tire - though they're a little more than I wanted to pay... I've read a bunch of rave reviews - and then several where people said they had sidewalls blow out on them on the freeway 'course that's happened to both System-F and I with BFG MTs...

I think you were looking at the same review postings website about the blow-outs with Trxus. Kind of scared me. Keeping them balanced seems like a more common problem obviously, due to their heavy weight.
You had blow-outs with BFGs? Is it cause you were running load range C tires instead of D or does that not really come into play on our vehicles?

So far my impression with the TrXus is they are outstanding. Then again, I'm coming from a set of 265/75/16 BFG ATs that were at the minimum legal limit here for tread depth. I really didn't shop around too much (pricewise) but I actually got 2 of them (actually, 1 so far) for $100 brand new which offset the costs. One came from a local guy and the other I'm getting from KDawg as soon as I remember to send him some $$$. I just hate the feeling of spending that much money on tires only to go tear them offroad. Hell, I had one of them smoking less than 24 hours after I got it. Maybe that's how I should budget in a rear locker.... They really aren't as noisy as I was expecting. I really can't even hear them over my exhaust (which I don't consider too loud) at anything under 60 or so. Haven't had them on the highway yet, but I must have missed those reviews about them falling apart. The guys at Discount Tire who balanced them were pretty damn impressed with how well they balanced for the size of tire and pattern. The worst one needed 8 oz., two needed somewhere between 4-6oz. and the other only needed 2oz. I'll give you a full write up as soon as I get a few more days (and maybe some offroad time) out of them.

I don't even remember what load range I'm running - but the reason both blew out (front on my truck, rear on System-F's truck) was due to rock damage on the sidewalls - they had gouges in them that over many hours of freeway driving finally gave way. Any tire will blow out with sidewall damage like that - but a tougher tire like the MT/R wouldn't have gotten the sidewall damage in the first place.

Wait 'till they wear in a little bit. They'll get loud. Thats what happenend with my MT/R's anyway. After first they were silent. Now it sounds like I'm on top of a 747.

How many miles did you put on them before that happened?

Those tires are great my 33s I got about 22000 miles on and the 35s I have now have about 16000 miles on them. As long as you keep them balanced they wear great. I bought the life time balance at Discount cuz they are the only ones who can balance them the best.

Great to hear! I got the same balancing mounting/balancing deal from Discount too. I'm hoping to get a few miles out of them so I'll probably get them balanced every so often.
