well, after making some basic questions about my HB in this forum, a friend invited me to go to the sierra de tapalpa. Tapalpa is a beautiful small town in the woods, in the middle of the sierra in jalisco, about 60 mi. from Guadalajara, mexico.

This was basically a jeep excursion, but I asked if I could go with my nissan and it was ok. The level of the route was not complex, but with nice landscapes and we had the cance to play around in several places. It was a two days trip, only camping the saturday night and closing sunday with a test circuit organized by the tapalpa authorities.

There were more Cj's than everything, the second biggest group were the grand cherokees, some CJs, 1 wagoneer, 3 FJs, 1 toyota pickup, 1 ranger, 1 baja bug and my HB.

my truck is bone stock, and it was the most "soft looking" of the group. So many times the guides asked me "do you want to get into? ok"

The nissan made it nice in all the hard parts, so I'm very satisfied with my HB behavior =D

3 cj's ended broken, two of them of the front axle, the transfer I guess, and one drooped out the alt and water pump band, I can't translate this... a "balero" (spanish), and had to be towed to guadalajara.

I have some really crapy pics, most of them of my ride, but without action, I'll ask some pics to my friend, saw him taking some pics in nice angles.

regards.

beautiful views. When you said "FJ" I thought you were talking about the original FJ's from the 70's.

no, we hadn't those nice old FJs. Actually toyota arrived to mexico in 2002. in the 80s we had 4 or 5 brands of cars to choose, and only 4 or 5 models per brand.

in the last years we have been meeting a lot of new cars, mainly asiatics and auropeans. Not to mention we have here all the "ten years old" cars that you see disapearing like magic there.
