We hit Sycamore Creek today to find some fun trails for the first day of the 2008 AZ Run.

Taking a break on the trail:

The creek was running pretty good today:

Marshall playing in the creek:

One of the obstacles on the Day 1 trail:

Steve decides not to take my fun line.. I went down directly below his passenger side tire.

Steve coming down one of the bypasses:

The group driving down another fun hill:

Andy stuck in quicksand. From the time he originally got stuck and when we pulled him out, the truck sunk a good 4". The passenger side floorboard was full of water:

There are a lot of BIG rocks throughout the trail:

We couldnt figure out what this thing was for. A giant truck see-saw mabye?

I bought 2 new grease seals and a couple quarts of gear oil to repack bearings and put fresh oil in the front diff.

Fricking sand is stuck in everything.

I could feel the truck sinking. But I kept my feet dry hooking up the strap Big Grin

I'll probably want to pull mine apart too. I spent a lot of time in the water/sand today.

Did you get sand in the rear brakes too?

I had some in there, but it seems to have worked itself out and its braking normally. Still, I'll probably pull the drums just to blow all the junk out of there.

Another day, that is.

My cabinet project is first, and I don't have any trail rides planned for the next few weeks. In fact, the Meany is going in for some surgery sometime in January.

there is a computer under the center console on the hump, so it stayed dry. Good thing that side of the truck sank. I have an Alpine amplifire under the seat on the driver side Big Grin

I went out and checked this morning. The carpet is still damp, but it's drying out. Thank goodness for our dry climate here, else the truck would be smelling like an old gym bag by now.

It's in the garage with the windows down. This isn't the first time the carpet has been soaked on that side.

that lil "see saw" thingy is a thing to play on to try and balance your truck... I have seen those used in some over-seas offroad comps...(Japan, Malaysa, ect....)

looks like a lot of fun in store for day 1... Chug

I dunno.. the see saw thingy was bending pretty good with the nose of steve's truck on it. I think it might be for horses to use for some sort of training.
