Here are my photos from today's trip:

A fun rocky hill climb we found:

Marshall coming up the hill:

We found a cave off to the side of the trail. I'll have to look on my USGS maps to find out if its listed. The entrance was at least 30-40 feet deep and was dark enough you couldnt see the bottom.

Back on the trail.. the scenery is gorgeous!

Checking the fit of my 35s in my wheel well:

I'm going to have to cut another inch or so out of the backside of the wheelwell to get the tire to stuff without rubbing.

Still drops the tire out pretty far. The top of the tire is below the rock slider. About 24-26" of travel.

That was fast!

Nice pics. Should have wrapped a tree saver around my waist and let you lower me down into that hole with the winch. Maybe next time.

A tree saver?! I think you'd need a recovery strap to wrap around your fat ass smiley40

John, the truck looks nice with the 35s. Muy bueno.

Andy, his winch is only like 10k. You would have needed a snatch block or two. Maybe even another truck.

That being said, looks like it was a fun day. Doesnt look too hard, or too easy.

Can a winch cable hold that weight even with 2-3 snatch blocks. We are talking about DR.

I hate you people. It's not like we're talking about Sandbag here....of course he'd probably just pull the truck down into the hole with him....

Looks like it would be a fun rid for those IFS people. Question: how much of the run will be for sas rigs? If say you are on a trail for sas do they have bypasses for those who don't have ground clearances?

When I went last spring, I just wheelied through the SAS sections. Wink

That looks like an awesome trail. Will we be using that next year?

Hmmm.... are you discounting what an IFS can do?

Nope. I'm wondering how much of the run a IFS rig can not due. IE: Rock Gardens, ground clearances issues.

On equal tires, IFS rigs have better ground clearance in front than a solid front axle.
