I need to change the spark plugs on my wife's 2001 Pathfinder and don't have a Chilton's for it yet...anyone know the recommended plug gap?

Standard Type PLFR5A-11 NGK
Cold Type PLFR6A-11 NGK
Hot Type PLFR4A-11 NGK
Gap (Nominal): 1.1mm (0.043 in)
That's the 01 not 01.5

Thanks. I called the auto parts store and they told me .044

I got Champion double platinum plugs...ever have any experience with them? I've never used them before.

I've always ran NGK in my 4 & 6 cylinders. heh that's been the last 20 some years. Never platinums though, except in the new truck. I've ran autolites in my old 442. Sorry

I would steer away from the platinums if there's some miles on the engine.

Have you had any problems withthe '01?

From what I've heard, platinums last longer but don't work as well

On my truck platinums are stock. The part numbers I posted are from the service manual.

I have bosch platinums+4 in my 95 hardbody. I noticed a diffenence. The engine would pull harder after the new plugs were installed. Prior to those I had autolite platinums. With the autolites I did not notice much of a difference over the stock NGK's.

So did you get them changed.

I spent 30 minutes battling a coil pack, just to look at one plug.

It looks like the throttle body has to come off to even see two of them. Not cool.

I haven't had the time to change them out yet...after looking to see where the plugs are located, I think it's a little more complicated than changing the plugs in my 95 Pathfinder. Smile

Changed the plugs today...took about 2 hours thanks to a stripped head of a bolt in the bracket above the #5 cylinder and the process involved to get to the #4 plug. To get to the #4 plug, I removed the air intake hose and I think the Idle Air Control Valve...no problems there. The entire job took a little more time than I thought...glad I don't have to change the plugs often!
