I was wondering if anybody knows about Poly bushings. I bought every bushing A/C had available but now I'm not sure I want to put them in. I'm afraid they are going to make my 97 SE ride like a box of rocks. I'll be putting in new Rancho struts, Rancho 17000 shocks in the rear and 1/2 inch lift heavy duty springs all around. Do you think I need the Poly bushings...I still want a decent ride on the street. Do you know anybody that uses them? Do they squeak a lot?

Thanks
Nick

Welcome to the board Smile The only experience with poly bushings I have, is with my 510. I thought that it would make the ride worse too, but not so. You might notice a little bit more road noise and be able to feel the road more. The poly bushings made a noticable improvement in handling. As far as overall ride, its actually pretty good. I have driven other cars that have much stiffer rides and can hear and feel the road much worse, and they were stock. Just make sure to use a silicone based grease for the bushings. I made the mistake of using general purpose grease the first time. All was quiet for about a week, then big time squeeking, moaning, and groaning.

Enjoy the ride,
Ben

I bought all the bushing that AC has to offer as well for my '97 SE. I put most of them in except for the Pan Hard rod and the upper rear control arms, ran out of time and money before I could complet them. They were a great improvement in rides as the original bushings in the front and driverside rear were completely worn. The ride is not too stiff. I feel like I have better control of the vehicle with them and the ride definitely has improved. I can't wait to put in the rear upper contorl arm bushings and Panhard rod and see how it improves. I think it actually rides better than when I first got it in 2000. The only thing that I have to do now is replace the sway bar link pins???. No too sure what they are but I understand that they are responsible for the small thump I hear from time to time.

It's better upside down and in the dark...just not in the my Pahfinder
