last week after some 6" rainfall I was wading the truck through a few flooded areas (up to 12" of water) and noticed that anytime I got in the deep stuff (trying to keep the wake down by going slow) my steering would get reeeeeally heavy like I had no power steering. Is this a common thing or is there something I can waterproof for a little more protection?

other then that it swam OK at one point with water to the top of the rims, with only some odd highreving and sputters

It is common, at least with my R50, for water to get up by the power steering V-belt and cause it to slip if it's not good and tight..and it is usually the first to squeek, too (the power steering v-belt)

well I guess thats a releif...a belt is easy enough to replace and tighten....was worried I had some more serious issues. Never thought of that. Thanks
