I need help!!!

I purchased used roof rack off of a '97 Pathfinder (same as mine) from eBay. It is in great shape and looks good. However it did not come with installation instructions or hardware. Can anyone tell me (send pics if possible) how the side rails attach to the roof of the Pathfinder? If anyone has a Chilton manual with this information, or can just take some close up pics of yours. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I can send pix if needed, I also have the 96 FSM and Haynes.

The last time I looked at how it mounts. I tink there is machine screws right into the roof under the corner brackets. You probaly already have the holes hidden under something. Or some dimples where the threaded holes should be.

Pics would help a lot. Especially close ups of the screws and location. And pics of whether there is a smaller side rail underneath the roof rack side rails.
My Pathfinder came without the roof rack. The side rails of the rack seem to fit right over my smaller existing rails which I guess are there just to cover up the channel where the rack rails go. But if I take them off the roof rack rails don't completely cover that channel.
So I don't know whether I'm supposed to leave them on or not.

Thanks for you help. It is greatly appreciated.

The rails are bolted on using t25 torx bolts. I removed the front left (US Driverside) plastic cover to expose the other bolt underneath. There is blocks that bolt too the roof.

I hope you get all the hardware with the rack you buy. There are 3 styles of roof racks offered on R50 Pathys. 96-2004.

Thanks a million for your help and the great pics. I see now that I am missing hardware and also the mounting blocks that go under the rail.
Guess I am going to have to visit a junk yard and hope I can find the parts I am missing.

Thanks again. You have been a great help.

No problem, glad I could help. I would check with a local dealer just for pricing before you hit the Junk yards. Sometimes little parts are cheap.
