Hey guys. Im about to buy a head unit for my 1997 (no bose) . According to crutchfiels.com my 97 has an OEM amp ?
Can anyone confirm this? Crutchfield adapter |

Yes it does. If you put in an aftermarket deck you should put in the level reducer. Otherwise you will probably overdrive the factory amp. You could also run new wires and bypass the amp completly, but then you would have to do new speakers in the front.

just to update this. You can make this work with an aftermarket deck. I bought a keenwood. Its so nice. Looks factory too.
here I used a wireing harness with the factory amp/amps There is one blue wire that was not discussed in the installation. Its connected to a harness on the tape deck part of the double din radio. You need to power that to a switched 12v and your good to go
