I have had quite a few nissan trucks & one thing that seems to be in common with all of them is a tick noise that happens upon a cold start up sometimes. It sounds like the oil isn't getting to the pistons fast enough. I've experienced this is all of my nissans but one, no matter what the mileage was. Is this a common nissan thing, or do I need to have something fixed? I guess I plan on using slick 50 next oil change. Maybe that will help if nothing else.
Thanks, Mike |

It's very common. Mine has been doing it for 50,000 miles.

it's the oil draining out of the hydraulic lifters.... takes a second for the oil to get back into the little phokers..

I really hate the sound it makes too.

Yeah,
That sound makes my skin crawl. Nissan should have addressed this by now. You guys don't feel that it will shorten engine life or anything? |

Uh, nope. Plenty of VG engines with hydraulic lifters going back over 10 years with 200K or more on 'em no sweat.
If it ain't broke, don't bitch about it, Brent |
