I have a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder
(72000 mi)which the dealer has diagnosed with a bad ABS controller. Price to fix -- $1100 parts plus $300 labor. Has anyone had any experience with getting the controller rebuilt? Anyone familiar with the company ModuleMaster for rebuilding controllers? It looks like getting the module out will not be too big a deal, any suggestions? Thanks |

There $100 or less used. I would get a second opinion.
Try car-parts.com or ebay.com Allot of people rip them out when doing a SAS. I have 2 spare 92s. Barry 93 D21 King Cab SE - 35s, SAS + stuff 92 Pathfinder SE - Auto SAS 3 link 04 Quest SE - stock, perfect!!! |

I'll sell you my ABS controller if you don't want to mess with repairing your current one. I ripped my ABS sensors out a while ago and don't ever want it to work again! Mine's off a 2000 Pathfinder.

Thank you for your quick responses.
I still do not know which way I am going to go on this -- disconnect or repair. Money being a little tight this time of year I may wait till spring. |

I would just replace it with a used one. If it is really bad.
Did the ABS light come on? There is a way to check the codes on those. And clear them. Barry 93 D21 King Cab SE - 35s, SAS + stuff 92 Pathfinder SE - Auto SAS 3 link 04 Quest SE - stock, perfect!!! |

Replace with a used one. There's no reason to repair one. They are pretty much consumables. When they go bad replace it.

ABS light did come on. I had it at the dealer for a state inspection and they did the diagnostic work.
