I've searched and can't really find anything specific.
For the trans, I can just use Dex trans fluid right? The manual says use nissan matic d or dex equivalent. It also calls for the same spec fluid in the T-Case? Does anyone have any recommendations Furthermore, how about hte diffs? LSD or NON-LSD aside, would some royal purple get the job done? anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. |

Dexron/Merco
For Nissan automatic transmission Dexron/mercon fluid is what you want. I use valvoline max life automatic transmission fluid. It's has gotten expensive lately. Yes Nissan specifies auto transmission fluid inside the t-case. You can also run 80-90 GL-4 gear lube inside the transfer case. Rule of thumb is run the same fluid in your transfer case you are running in the transmission. Is your truck equipped with a traction aid? I always install LSD additive in differentials with a limited slip installed. With synthetic fluids you do not have add an lsd additive to the gear oil. Read label on the bottle. It will usually say LSD friendly or not. BTW- Royal purple is some good stuff. Personally I do not buy synthetic oil; I purchase high quality dyno oils. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |
