Just joined N4W. Anyone else out there got a Pathfinder R50 with the NEO DDI twin cam turbo diesel? I am having a hard time getting any info on them. Have had a couple of probs with mine (rear axle seal, warped rotors and drums, bung AFM)

Mine was running pretty slow till the other day when trying to clean the airflow meter, I broke it. I whacked in a new one and it seemed like I had strapped on a set of balls onto this bad boy. 0-100 times came tumbling from 30- seconds to 10.5 for the 0-100 dash. 10.5 0-100 for an auto tranny dieseasel!!! It breaks traction on dry pavement when you put your foot down.

I recommend this maintenance to anyone with an early R50 JDM that has been pottering about in Japan. Mine is TR50 000251 so it must have been one of the first. I have not driven a diesel with so much poke, nor one that goes so well behind a slush box. If your AFM reads lower than 2.2V at idle replace it (mine was reading 1.6V).

ZD-30TDDi twin cam 4 cylinder
AUTO trans
170hp@3700rpm
360Nm at 1800rpm
17:1 CR

I am getting 700kms (437miles) out of 60L of diesel or 8.5L/100kms around town. The thing is amazing! It accelerates like a sedan, has so much sound deadening that it is quiet on the freeway, don't know what it is like off road yet but was disapointed to see no rear LSD. Has anyone retro fitted an LSD into these? Can I just throw in an LSD diff center?

Are there any ways to identify an LSD diff other than spinning the wheels by hand?

Any one else know any typical probs that are likely to occur that are model specific especially related to the ZD30 engine.

No, sadly someone has their head up there ass and in the states here we didnt really get any of the nissan diesels.

28 mpg! I want some of that. Too bad Nissan won't give them to us over here.

HOLLY shit I had no idea that the TD30 was thrown in R50s... I thought it was just the TD27. The automatic sucks balls, but the rest of that truck is awesome..

There will be a orange sticker above the fill hole stating "LSD oil only" or something like that.

My R50 came stock with LSD. Do you have a H233B rear?
