this Patrol is one of only 975 sold in the USA. It is undergoing a frame off resto currently...I bought this rig in Silver City New Mexico last fall for $1000.

The front floor pans and seat frame are being replaced with new parts from Columbia. The rea tub and floor is being restored as is. A small amount of welding and patching needs to be done to fix some rust in the tub and bulk head. The PTO box and winch are from a 67 Patrol but are near perfect and may not even need a rebuild! I just got a near perfect steering wheel for this truck too. It will use a new dual master cylinder from late 70's Patrols. The home made suspension you see will be cut off the frame and new mounts welded on for a lift kit from Australia. If I can find and rebuild one this rig will recieve a H260 rear diff with Detroit locker fitted. A Weber carb will be fitted to the engine once it is rebuilt. The block is in very good shape with only minor pitting on the #1 cylinder. It will be bore to .30 over. The crank is in great shape and will be done to .10 over. My plan is to paint the rig in a fairly stock lime green with tan canvas and tan seats, rims may be tan or silver. Other than mods mentioned this truck will be stock. Bout a year out from being done, maybe more Frown

the dual MC is from Columbia and is brand new. Yes it bolts right on...in about 1970 or so this is what the used on all Patrols. A buddy in Oz didn't know there was a single one as all he ever seen is dual. We got the shaft here with Patrols all you all know and still get the shaft reguarly. In parts of Oz there was also a brake booster. I will send you a pic of a guy down in Oz who did a 350 conversion and he has the dual MC with brake booster.

more pictures of my other 64 the blue one. Smile

This truck runs great considering it has blown head gasket and crappy Rochester carb. The head is soon to be rebuilt and a Weber 2 barrel fitted. Then a lift kit put on it and few other odds and ends like a restored top fitted. Then will be back up for sale...any takers!? Eek

my super clean 66 KL60...not for sale Razz

Are you guys getting sick of looking at pictures of these trucks yet!? Big Grin

LOL...the wood dash crap on the 65 is just stickers. I think it is hella redneck but to each his own! Wink

Yea I agree Jon, I am doing good on the 64 KL60. Had it a year now and it is way way better than when I got it. The thing barely ran when I test drove it at 6am on a Saturday in the Mission District of San Francisco! If I had a garage it would be much farther along as right now I would be working on it, but I don't have a agarage so that is a problem. I pressure washed the engine and undercarriage today and it came very clean. I can now tell exactly where my oil leaks are located and it is dumping a lot of oil off the head on the manifold side. No worries though as I just got new valves, springs and guides plus full gasket set. So soon the head will be completly rebuilt. I like the thing so much I been driving it with a blown head gasket and just adding very expensive Amsoil reguarly!

You have now learned that Patrols take mass patients and a lot of work. yet, you only paid $100 for the truck and trust me once you wheel it you will never go back! I can tell you this...out of all the people I know with a beat up project Patrol I respect yours and what you are doing more than any others! Great job thus far and before long you will find out how much fun these trucks are to drive...Another one has been saved!!

Wow, there was a lot of rust in that crossmember. Looks like it totally collects water and muck in there. I wonder if drilling a few drain holes in that might help it live longer?

You are a true restoration man! I've not seen many people willing or capable to do a full frame off on anything.

most P-trolls have the crossmember problem. There is only one drain hole in them and it is center. tiny little holes in the side where it mounts to frame. both cause the crud to collect and any oil leaks at the rear of the block drip into the crossmember. On this one I have 4 new holes now on the sides for drainage and easy to get at with pressure washer. What you see packed into the crossmember is mostly from dust over a 40 year span....A friend made a funny comment on it though...might have been some silver dust in there as it came from Silver City! Wink
