Oh yeah any thoughts on a paint scheme.

The orginal was red with red interior. I am thinking I might go miltary with OD green or desert tan. or keep it stock colors ?

Im building my patrol up just slightly... Im thinking 35" tires MAX!! Will probably stick with the stock front axle, too... The trails around here dont have very many rocks, so there isnt a whole lot to worry about. Its mostly the more forgiving dirt.

Besides, the BIG jacked up Jeeps with tires that will never touch the fenders dont stand a chance where I wheel. Its usually some pretty tight fits between trees, and stuff. Thats why my Patrol will be pretty heavily armored.

Im also going with Jeep TJ mirrors since they fold up against the truck so nicely when smacked by a tree! Smile

Cant go wrong with camo. only, you'll really want to paint the interior if you go with green camo, since green and red looks rather christmasy. hehe

For the interior, herculine the floorboards and bed. Good quality spray paint works well for everything else. I used Krylon Battleship Grey RustTough spray enamel for mine and its been really good. It goes on well and doesnt chip that easily.

Im already planning on doing this, so I dont want to ask and expect you to do the same as me... but Im gonna paint my Patrol in a red/light grey/dark grey/black urban camo with a red/burghandy/black interior. I think its gonna look good...

Gonna use some burghandy S-10 Blazer buckets, some black Durabak bedliner, and just certain things trimmed in black. Such as the panel for the gauges and glove box, defrosters, and stuff like that...

Just sharing my idea...

well...you kow I like it stock. But....my 64KL60 if I ever paint it will be silver/black, not sure on top but prolly white. Interior, bah, whatever looks good...pannels will more than likely be diamond plate though as I like how John's looks.

My 64 L60, it is going to be a stock green color. An emeral color that is almost lime. With tan canvas, seats and rims...unless I go silver rims. In 1979 Nissan changed their paint scheme a bit by going with silver grill, front bumper and rims and it looks sharp. Might do this as I get tired of the same old black undercarriage and bumpers. The other choice is wjhite (it's stock color) with a very very light lime green, this was a stock set up too. The green is so light you can alomost not see it but it goes half way up the body all the way around and looks very sharp. If I went this route may just use stock OD canvas as it looks good. I have both these in brochures if any one wants to see just email me.

My 66 KL60 will be stock fire engine red with the stock grey interior. Seats may go back to red or stay black. Top will be white and rims will stay red.

Now for the wild ideas for custom built truck....the Japanese rising sun, like on the flag. White and red with the sun off centered. This would be crazy looking but I seen a very old racing Subaru done up like this and it looked pretty killer. Black with white flames with white top and rims. Nothing to fancy but still a bit crazy Wink Two tone grey with a light and dark grey. Raised areas on hood and fenders be the two tone ares, rims silver and top whatever. Last idea is the Nissan red, white and blue (yea USA), the truck white with red and blue accents....

Personally I do not like camo, bit to redneck for me, no offense guys. Although I think Jon's will look sharp in the red night camo.

The preps just hate camo... and I just get sick of seeing the same old hunter green/olive green/khaki camo pattern ever day of the friggin week!! I want to be DIFFERENT!! Thats the way I am, and always will be!

I saw a red camoflouged H1 when I was a bit younger. I was riding with my grandparents through Kansas City when I saw it... man that thing sure was neat!

I was going to do the same thing with my G-Wag before I sold it, but things change..
