While driving my 66 around last night, it was a bit cold so I used the heater....first use of the heater since last winter. Any ways, I smelled antifreeze in the cab and this morning noticed it has leaked out of the heater and on to the floor boards. I had the radiator flushed last fall and used the heater plenty after that with no probs. What would cause this? Flith in the heater and lines? Clogging?

I would think the most likely cause is a burst or leaky hose. My 510 blew its oem hoses shortly after I got it.. they are the kind of hoses that look like they were woven out of string. Those hoses literally decompose over time from what I've seen. Mine all shredded themselves and blew out. So, check that.

I'm lookin into puttin the heater back in my Patrol for the winter. Once the new cage and canvas go on, it'll make winter wheeling nice!

yea...I know about the old rotting hoses. Didn't do anything with my Patrol today though...

I am curious if anyone knows what 265/75R16 is in tire size? Like is that a 31" tire or bigger? and the 75 width, is that how wide??

It is my thread so I can change the subject right!?

I came up with 30x10.5 using the formula

(265 * 0.75 * 2) / 25.4 + 16 = 30"
and 265 / 25.4 = 10.5"

265 is the width, 75 is the "aspect ratio" which is a way of expressing the sidewall height as a ratio to the tire width.

There are some here, too:
Engine, Gear & Tire Calculators
You might check your math...
Using
(2 * Sidewall * Aspect) / 2540) + Rimsize = Diameter
I get 31.65"...

Also, using The Drip's formula, which is the same but stated differently, (265 * 0.75 * 2) / 25.4 + 16 = 31.65"
(265 * 0.75 * 2=397.5 / 25.4 = 15.6496 + 16 = 31.6496)

For the width I get 10.433, which is pretty close to 10.5...
So I guess that'd make it more like a 32x10.50.

Hey Fudd,

You might have found your problem by now with the leaking antifreeze, but did you check your heater core? I had one crack on me last winter. I put in my spare part in about 15 minutes. Good as new now.

If they crack, hold onto them. Depending on where it cracks you can usually solder it back together again with a blowtorch.
