Well my roll cage is almost complete the welder guy was making a finishing touch and put a knee through my very old windshield. So he has gone ahead and replaced it. The old windshield was not safety glass. It broke into a million little pieces. So I guess it was a good for me. But I'm sure the $1000 for the role cage will cover his cost for the window.

So you are saying that it shattered like a side or rear window instead of being held together by a thin layer of plastic?
I just wanted to clarify, because I have never heard of a modern windshield doing that. |

I think the Patrol windshield was original so that would be why it blew up. There was no safety regs in 1966 I guess. But hey, I'm getting a modern one now.

That's true. They didn't even have lap belts back then. I suppose 40years is long enough for a windshield to last.
