I am 100% sure this ad has a bunch of false info in it. This truck was for sale on ebay a year or less ago. Some of you may recall it, it had tan paint, some dents and Super Swampers on it. It went for under $2k. If I recall right it was closer to $1000. This guy selling it now says he got it from some old guy who just used it at home, hence the low miles. Not true!! It doesn't have 2100 miles on it, that is for sure just by looking at it. I even remember the other ebay aution stating milage over 100k. I got this seller to send me pics of the rear floor and sure enough I could then tell for sure this truck is not as described. You can see the old tan paint in the pics he sent. Plus how many Patrols you think there is in Cali with the exact same extended shackles, the exact same disc brakes and the exact same cut out fenders!

These guys bought it off ebay more than likely when it was on there before. They fixed the dents and sprayed it white. That is about all they did and it doesn't even look as though they stripped the old tan paint before respray. Now it is back on ebay for 4 times what it was before!!

Man what is it with people, Patrols and ebay!?

This is the 2nd or 3rd truck I have seen on ebay like this. It shows upone way for cheap. then shortly after it shows up again with a bunch of BS info for a bunch more money. Are people just buying these Patrols to turn a profit?? What could possibly motivate them toput a flase story in the ad?? Is it the almighty dollar that does this??

To me this is a bit of a let down and I hope nobody gets taken for a ride, I know for experience being had sucks big time!

Besides all that the truck does have some potential. It has the stock factory jack in it's place in the rear. It is pretty straight and rust free. But other wise i don't see much to make it special or above the norm. The extened shackles have made the front leaks flat as can be. In the pics on ebay you can see this. This is why I really hate extended shackles and think they suck for lifting a truck. While the disc brakes are kind of nice they were just done by a home mechanic basically and are not anything to special.

Any ways...what do you all think of this? Do some of you guys remember this patrol last time it was on ebay?? I can likely dig out pictures I have of this truck before it got sprayed white if anyone wants to see them.....

Two weeks ago, a guy I know on the Pirate board had a set of boggers for sale on ebay, so I was checking his ebay feedback, and found that he bought the tires on ebay several weeks before. He bought them from the guy that is selling that Patrol. So I looked at the feedback for that guy, and found that he sells many cars, and has some negative feedback as well as some positive. He had a 4x4 for sale, but I can't remember what it was, anyway, in the background I could see the front end of a Patrol. That is the Patrol I saw, and that must be his house, because every car in the background is something he sold or has listed. I can't give any info on the guy, but he is a dealer, and dealers lie about cars and the story about the guy in carlsbad sounds fake.

I knew it had Swampers on it before. I am going to dig out a pic of it from last time it was on ebay.

Not all dealers are sketchy. I am working on being one myself and plan to be as straight as an arrow!

It not a big enough deal for you to go and look at it to prove the guy is lieing or something like that. But since he is so close maybe go and have a look...more than anything take it for a test drive so you can see what a Patrol is all about. Just be aware that thing is kind of funky with the extended shackles and big tires. Big tires on a stock drive train in a Patrol will easily kill it's all ready bad low end. With a stock tranny/transfer Patrols should not have anything bigger than 31-33" tires or it simply will be lame off-road. And bigger than 34's you should consider doing something about the diff ratios. I am curious how the disc brake work/feel on it. There are some issues you have to deal with for the hydralics on a conversion. You can't just bolt it up and use the stock MC, it would suck for sure.

well...regardless of what we or I may think of the truck it did sell today on ebay. $4250 was what it went for...a bit high in my opinion but hey I hope the new owner is happy with it. And really all that does is show that even a middle of the road Patrol is worth money. Wink
