Well I just wanted to say g'day and thank you to LordBiotree for his post on "How to clean out an A/C Evaporator found here; http://nissan4wheelers.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3766078435/m/77010062141
Even though I have a Y60 GQ the information was enough to steer me through the process ( and motivate me to join this forum). I found leaves and the evaporator fins were totally gunked up with a black graphite looking kinda oily dust (years of bush driving I suspect). Anyway the A/c is out and I'm cleaning it - I think I should get considerable more airflow through the vents after I'm done. I'll post some pics of the gunk latter today. 1997 Turbocharged GQ (Green) Suspension - Coils over air Wheels - Sunrasia Tyres - Olympic Overlander 31x10.50R15LT Front Bar - TJM Back Bar - ARB Other Accessories - IPF lights, Uniden 090 UHF, Uniden President 300 CB, Side steps, Safari snorkle, Remote CD player, Electric trailer brake assist,Trailboss towing system, Longranger fuel tank, Lambskin seatcovers |

speechless, Your welcome! Beautiful patrol!
The truck is keep the fan clean. What happs is leaves(debris) get into the fan and eventually the fan throws the leaves(debris) into the evaporator. In the Hardbody and pathinder it's much easier to keep the fan clean then it is to clean out the evaporator. I will be dropping the fan again soon for cleaning. It's going to be one of those annual cleaning components for me. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |
