Yeah no worries gumybob, did ya want that express post
Can't believe you poor buggers don't get GU Patrols over there, they're a sh!t hot truck. The running gear's bullet proof & they look sexy. 90% of the boys in the comp scene here drive GQ'S & GU's, they're bloody tuff! |

G'day mate
Great new Ute !! Man there is my ARB bull bar and Lightforce lights combo I will shortly put in my GU Patrol ... sadly the issue of bringing them down from US or Aussie, impacts heavily on the final price , doubles it ... Always liked your GU from OZ forums !! Thanks JP. I actually found this forum after doing a search for DC-1 on Nissan Patrol & found yours
The old wagon was a top 4wd. Spent a 'lot' of $$$ on that thing though the new truck's more suited to what I need. It serves its' purpose as my day to day work (I'm a carpenter), deer hunting, touring & of course keeping up with the big boys on the weekend I've just ordered myself some DC-1 polished alloy rims with 35 MTZ's, should be here this week I'm hoping, can't wait to see how they look on Those details coming soon..... |

Wow, the GU Ute on DC-1s will look killer !! , mines are 15" so calipers clear pretty tight but still good clearance, maybe your Ute is running on 16" wheels.
You also have the ZD30DDTi engine right ? (your GU had the TD42T => great engine) BTW , this flex is insane for a pretty std suspension ... Yeah we have the 3.o litre diesel's here but they're pieces' of sh!t waiting to explode, I wouldn't go anywhere near them.
Until this year, the ute's have only come with the td42 both turbo & non-turbo. As of 08, they've dropped the 4.2 & gone with the 3.o....Pitty. I used to run 16' rims but run 15's. Not for any reason in particular, the ute just came with the so I'll stick with it. The 4.8's have a larger disc rotor from memory though the rotors on mine have been updated to slotted rotors As for flex, here's a couple of pics from the ramp day we had here in town not long ago, I came out on top Also, this is the tube bar I had made a while ago though sold it just today as I need more quarter panel protection incase I hit one of them bloody roo's so bought myslef an ARB bar for $400 (Aussie of course)

Stop it mate, stop it
This Ute does it all , what a good flex, way better than the wagon since it has maybe shorter wheelbase ... I envy you for the ARB availability and prices. ARB is worldwide known and you have it @ home , local You also got ARB lockers or the Ute came with rear factory locker ? Mate ARB make some great products but their prices & services are ridiculous. They charge a fortune & don't really have much to offer the boys that wana build trucks more suited to the comp scene. The majority of ARB stores here don't do custom stuff, mainly your touring sorta set-ups.
The wagon was locked though I haven't locked the ute yet. I drove a comp down here last year & drove the whole locked course 'unlocked' & come home with a 2nd place trophy I noticed as soon as I locked the wagon things were a lot easier to drive & I tended to rely on the lockers to get me through instead of good wheel placement. Next mod for me will be a new roller-bearing Garret turbo to replace the standard turbo in the 4.2 diesel. After that, lockers |

I get it , yeah ARB is too "marketing oriented" , too fashion seems like, but we have no other choice here , or you go custom or ARB. Custom means 60 days fabrication.

AWESOME TRUCK!?! I only wish Nissan sent solid front axle trucks to the us.
As fare as arb goes, I love my arb bumper. They cost $750+shipping(which was 200). You are lucky to have arb locally, by local I mean in the same country. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |
