Relisted a couple of times at least, I remember comments on the rear bumper killing departure angle.

Saw that the first time around....man, it sure looks like those rear tires will rub the fenders if you flexed it.

I think the rear would hit if you hit a speed bump... The green isn't *that* bad, but not my first choice, hehe.
Still pretty cool. Heavily Modified 2001 SE 6cyl 5spd 4x4 Solar Yellow |

clean 69 in Florida on ebay
this one looks very nice by the tiny pic and also appears to be a 69 ragtop, a 69 ragtop is very rare and only one I ever seen is owned by Jeeppy aka Jeff in Denver. 63 in Boise this is the one I am thinking about, just emailed him to find out reserve price. One thing about USA Patrols...the earlier the year the more rare. 64 L60 Patrol *project in the works* 64 KL60 Patrol "Hogan" -67 145 HP engine -Koenig stock PTO winch -7.50x16 Michelin XZL's -Rancho 5000's 66 KL60 Patrol "Admiral Togo" -40K original miles -245-75R15 Cooper Discoverers on stock 15" split rims & caps |

I am buying or bidding on the 63 n Boise. The rear axle is shot but other wise it is complete but rough. I got my price set fairly high so more than likely it is mine
So Dogwater or Greg...I will have a good solid motor or block forsale in the future if you want to make you 69 live again! BTW, who got the 69 in Reno for $25!? Did you buy it Sacto or should I say Jon?? I did get your mirror so email me and I will send you out the emblems..... 64 L60 Patrol *project in the works* 64 KL60 Patrol "Hogan" -67 145 HP engine -Koenig stock PTO winch -7.50x16 Michelin XZL's -Rancho 5000's 66 KL60 Patrol "Admiral Togo" -40K original miles -245-75R15 Cooper Discoverers on stock 15" split rims & caps |

Hey you know you are right Jon...that is one of the main probs with the old Patrol and the C216 diffs. Some people dissagree like my bud down in Bogota. I asked him to find me a H260 and he was like why!? The C216 is tuff as hell we all run 34-35" tires down here with SOA and have no probs really. That is quoting him too...but maybe they wheel in different stuff. Such as mostly soft ground and mud. Cause down in Oz they do it differnet and swap out to domestic or use the H260. From what I understand the way the axles always break or maybe the R&P is when you get a wheel off the ground, spin it and then drop it. Bam broke! As we all know not everyone knows how to wheel. Plus I think on harder ground such as packed dirt, big ruts, rocks, logs you have better chance of breaking it. Thus my reason in wanting the H260. I may be able to offer that in the future too as plenty of them in Oz in junkyards and I am sure same thing in S.America as it came in all H, trucks and fire truck Patrols plus a big Nissan truck or the Junior (can't remeber) all packed a H260 rear diff. I don't hassle you guys much about the rear end swaps because I know it is a weak point and they break. A guy I talked to last year in Reno who had 6 Patrols for sale said he wheeled them all the time on the Rubicon. He said he broke at least 4 axles or diffs in few years as he ran them hard and it tough terrian. So there ya go...the rear end in the old Patrol is weakest part. Tell ya what though, I compared tie rods and draglink to an FJ45 and our Patrols is nearly twice the size.
The next thing I have seen that is most common is a blown motor. Not just any old ways though. They all have near a fist size hole in the block at the front of the engine where the oil pan bolts on. Not sure what is up there other than oil pump failure but I have seen 6 Patrols with same blown motor and 2 I own. I even think Greg's blew they same way...not sure fill us in Greg. 64 L60 Patrol *project in the works* 64 KL60 Patrol "Hogan" -67 145 HP engine -Koenig stock PTO winch -7.50x16 Michelin XZL's -Rancho 5000's 66 KL60 Patrol "Admiral Togo" -40K original miles -245-75R15 Cooper Discoverers on stock 15" split rims & caps |

Sold!!!
As far as I can tell, mine threw the #6 rod because one rod end cap bolt came loose. One bolt was bent and busted with the nut still on it and the other was intact, as well as the seperate nut, laying in the pan. It put some good dents and a hole or two in the rear of the pan. My guess is that someone replaced the main seal and forgot to torque that bolt down when finished. I say that because on some engines (not sure about the Patrol), you have to remove that cap only in order to do the repair. Either that or the nut just worked loose over time, but all the rest were tight. This would be a good enough reason (for me) to drop the oilpan and check the torque on those bolts but I do believe it was just left loose.
