Yeah, nice rig and I don't question that it would cost a lot for that level of resto. I think I'll stick with my monster Patrol instead. Big Grin

Only two bids which are nowhere near the buy it now( reserve) price. She will sell but not for the kind of money being asked. Yes it's a rare vehicle but no one knows about them therefore there's not going be a demand for one. It's hard to sell a 240Z at that price.

on top of that its a bit of a hack job
all that money spent and no attention to details . its the little things that make a patrol rare and special. not a shinny bondo filled body or flames on air cleaner
butt any one looking to spend that kind of cash on a patrol should actually get one that is pure
uncut and deffinitely original. and 8 k is way wack on that truck butt i hope it sells ill putt a shiney red paint job on my next hacker
and triple my profit that is obvisouly what sells and expect to see my black truck get bright red before the end of summer not!! Pee

It is to bad but I have to agree with Jon aka 67L60 on this.

Most people don't have the eye to see a real resto and a fake one or should I say a poorly done one. This Patrol though was in sad sad shape before they started work on it. So bad the top was not saved, the top of the doors are history, the rear doors long gone. I can see it was a KL60 which was a hardtop, so no excuses saying it was a ragtop. It is east coast so my guess is the truck had heavy slat damage before it was fixed up.

I could pick this truck apart big time but I will just point out the most obviuos. For $16k I sure as hell wouldn't trust the suspension. The u-bolts looks so bad they might snap at any minute. Why go through all this trouble and money to fix it up and not fit new leaf springs? A lift kit is only $2k and it sure would make this truck look and ride better. For $16k you would expect to get new suspension right? The old ones are so flat and shot, they didn't even rearch them and sand blast before paint. The paint on the leaves won't stick to rust so it is already flaking off. While I see a lot of money spent on this truck it looks real half asses to me. The brake backing plate is the same as the suspension, paint over rust. They didn't even bother to straighten the backing plate before painting. Can't you see the rust showing through on the backing plate? There is a hacked up weld/rivet job on the drives cowl/floorpan. Pretty easy to see. It must have been so rotten in the kick vents they just got rid of them all together. WTF? Kick vents are a big part of what makes a Patrol special. The emblems on the side were painted silver, it looks like they were so rusty and pitted they had no choice to make the emblems look "good". I can even see silver paint runs on the emblems. In the engine bay I see a number of hacks on the body work. Down in the deep pockets between inner fenders and cowl I see what looks like paint on top of rust/rot. There is corrosion under the paint anyways. In this picture I will link you can see a hacked up inner fender from where somebody cut it for what loosk like exhast. You can also see a repair to the frame rail on the left. That frame rail isn't supposed to be solid, it is suppose to have holes in the bottem, notice the seam in the side of it? That is the repair. This frame was rotten and had to be repair just to make it driveable. Since it is a full box frame I suspect there is a lot of rust inside it. Wonder if they even touched the #2 cross memeber? My guess is no!

To me it looks like this truck was done up by a teenager in his dads garage. Well done for that type of resto I suppose. But I do not like the spare tire mount, cut rear fenders, lack of kick vents, no top of doors, no top, non-original gauges and more! A lot of what makes a Patrol look like a Patrol is gone from this truck. Jasons SoA Patrol looks more Patrol to me than this one! And it is less orginal...LOL

I understand most people don't have the eye to tell what a real resto is but trust me boys this isn't it.
