Nice Patrols, but yes... I would suspect them of rubbing! But I spose the snow would absorb alot of the shock, so I guess the suspension might not have to...

Loads of action pics

Usualy we have 20-30 psi, but when we drive in snow we deflate it down to 2-3 psi. That make´s the car float.

The suspension is modified so you can´t even fell if you drive accidentaly over a smaller viechle.....whith your tires full pumped!!!!

Ok, I copied this to General Chat. I removed all the Larry and other references in this thread that were non related to the original topic - however, they remain on the thread in General Chat.

If you love something set it free.
If it comes back, it will always be yours.
If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with.

But, if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money and doesn't appear to realize that you had set it free.....
You either married it or gave birth to it !!

Anyway....
Those are some cool looking rigs there, Iceland. It was interesting looking at some of the action shots. They make our recent 18" of snow look minor. Wink
I liked this one, I assume this is a Patrol:
Not a Patrol but, oops - a little thin ice!

I wish we could get a little snow... Though, judging by how many wrecks there are with 3" of snow on the ground, it probably wouldnt be so great after all..

Hey there Dogwater

The pic you have is a 44" tires modified TOYOTA Landcruiser 80, ~1995. It is driving upon the biggest Glacier in Europe, called VATNAJÖKULL. The glacier is in S-E Iceland and covers over 8000 km^2 and the ice gets over 900m thick.

you can see more pics from the glacier in my homepage.

The second pic is a Kasbohrer Flexmobile, search an rescue team snowtruck.

Oops! My bad - all those Euro rigs look the same to me since I've never seen them in person. We're stuck with mall-crawlers. 44" tires - yikes! I guess if you're going glacier crawling you need all you can get.
I like the name "Flexmobile", I'd never heard of one. It looks like they needed some rescue in this case...
